Teams just given up

Alcantara shoved it up their ass today. I don't think they ever faced a pitcher like him all season. They seemed in shock the first few innings. Like they were a step behind.

The defense was terrible today too. Hendricks bailed the defense out a lot of those innings by getting out of jams.

Yu will have to pitch a CG shutout tomorrow for the Cubs to make it to G3. But we all know Garbish doesn't handle pressure well so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get rocked.

So these guys can't score again at the end of the season? Isn't it been like 3 years the same? I remember Theo making a big speech when Maddon was here about fixing this. seems like its on the players.

Basically yeah but we see it through the regular season as well. Cubs are amazing at beating up on the shit teams and shit pitchers throughout the ML. They win the games they should. But when they have to go up against good pitchers in pressure situations, they are cucks. Complete and total cucks.

People excused 2017 as being a hangover year. People excused 2018 as just "one of those things. Hey it happens." 2019 the excuses started to dry up. I suspect even hardcore defenders will disappear after this early exit.

It has more to do with how they built the line up. They went with the same type of player over and over again. The line up needs more diversity. Why I am good with Billy leading off and Happ moved into a RBI slot. Makes more sense going forward.

The problem with every hitter except Javy being passive means the pitcher just needs to attack the plate and force them to defend the plate. Javy when on don't give a crap about that stuff.

Well he started the inning at over 90 pitches and they hit him the previous 2-3 innings thankfully without scoring.

As soon as they got their first hit in the 7th id have gone immediately to the pen (should have had kimbrell and Ryan ready to go to start the inning)

where were you at saying this before the homerun? Lol

and if you think Kimbrel and Ryan are better options in a 1-0 ballgame than Hendricks at 90 pitches of shutout ball...then I dunno what to tell you. It was a good decision that simply just didn’t work out. You can ***** and moan all you want but if he had pulled Hendricks and then kimbrel or whomever else had given up the blast...you’d be on here bitching about, oh how could Ross of pulled Hendricks!? He was pitching a shutout!

We're at the point where we just have to dump it all. I know the older fucks don't want to hear that because they feel like "time is running out" to see another champion. I don't know what to say that except what we have isn't working. We've got a couple decent pitchers, 1 or 2 decent position players. The rest of the team are cucks.

this is the first game i'm watching of the cubs this season. so i may be incorrect w/ my impressions.

at the start of this game the cubs seemed to be sleepwalking. they're playing the game like it's a regular season game. the only one with a playoff face was hendricks.

i would rather have something like the Marlins roster. Those guys seem hungry and scrapy. The cubs seem satisfied and laid back. they need to start over.

I didnt expect a Yankees like dynasty. But at least another pennant maybe. I thought their run would be like the Phillies of 2000s. 1 WS and at least 1 NL Pennant.

Yep, just going through the motions and Ross isn't going to motivate them. Ross to worried about hurting feelings of his friends

Its the playoffs

It's the 7th inning

Hendricks started getting hit the last few innings

He went with a defensive sub to start the inming

Just have your relivers up and ready to start the inning

As soon as the marlins continued to hit the ball hard youre ready to make the move....they did once, he left him in, then weak hitting Wallach hit it hard and Ross left him in....to face the top of the order and after handed hitter....who promptly deposited the ball in the bleachers on the first pitch.

Ryan should have been ready for that lefty and/or kimbrell if you need a strikeout....instead he has his closer up as the only option and has to come in while the team is now trailing?

Just piss poor bullpen mgmt and strategic thinking

Epstein for never getting a closer. Hope Bryant hits .180 next year. The Ross hire was a joke
