Which pundits? All of them? When did they all say that?

No one said all of them as consensus doesn't denote all.

He has finished 3rd in the Ballon D'or 2 of the last 3 years. The one year he did not was due in part to injury and he finished 5th behind Griezman and Suarez.

So he has consistently been recognized as the 3rd best player in the world. He will likely not be 3rd this year once again due to injury but no other top player has finished 3rd more than once these past few years. He also was on pace to be in the running this year as he won Ligue 1 player of the year despite missing a couple of months ahead of Mbappe who played for most of the year. Further the closest guy to him is Suarez who has finished 4th, 5th, and 13th compared to Neymar finishing 3rd twice and 5th the other time.

Last I checked I don't vote on the award so yes the consensus is he is the 3rd best player in the world. If Salah can build on this past season or Mbappe this world cup then they may challenge him but it is about consistency not one season or one world cup.

So basically the equivalent of pro bowl voting.

Like I said, there's no objective, set in stone thing that definitively states he's the third best player. Imo he's in that group with the others I mentioned.

No that is not what you said. You said it was debatable and I said the following.

You can debate anything but the clear consensus again from the pundits is that he is.

Obviously by saying you can debate anything, that is a recognition that it is subjective. No one claimed there was an objective way to determine this. I said the clear consensus is that he is the 3rd best player. To which you then said.

 I think that's a consensus derived of you, your pro-Brazil bias, and your ceaseless arguing tenacity.

Which pundits? All of them? When did they all say that?

The irony is you claimed I was biased but now you are disregarding the consensus from the top award in his sport simply because the outcome goes against your individual opinion. You are free to have your individual opinion but it is flat out incorrect to accuse me of bias for accepting the consensus as voted on by people in his sport. If anyone is being biased here it is you as you have provided no independent basis for your opinion.

I answered your query by providing you evidence of the consensus and now you are moving the goalposts.

P.S. It is not like Pro Bowl voting at all. It is more akin to MVP voting as they are voting on the best player in the sport not multiple players across different positions. Further, you don't have dumb fan votes influencing the decision.

There's a character from the UK comic the Viz called Mr Logic. It's him. It's 100% perfectly him.

I have actually seen that comic. Quite amusing.
