I don't understand how some of you can apparently be fans of baseball and get so apocalyptic about a 1-0 loss. This was easily the most "that's baseball" game ever. Cubs left guys on. They made hard contact right at people. Francona literally used his entire bench and his two best relievers in this game and won 1-0. That shit happens.

I highly recommend some of you do what I do in this situation. I bet a shit load of money against the Cubs. If the Cubs lose, I win lots of money. If they win, I am happy and I pretend I used that money on tickets to the game.

Damnit Baez.... Better learn a better 2 strike approach... Could have been the hero... Good game, the only mistake. Should have walked Davis instead of trying to get him to swing at pitches in the dirt..... Once again. Cleveland did just enough.... They have to be one the worst offences to be up 2-1 in the WS ever.... Cubs better get it together tomorrow. SMALL BALL WINS THE WS>>>>

The dodgers are probably weeping that they don't get to play these guys. This is not NEARLY the team that Buck is making them out to be.

Baez was absolute garbage. Had two opportunities to plate a runner - or two - and continued to swing at garbage.

This team went 0-15 with runners on base.

Bryant, Ruusell and Baez have been bad.

This team has been shut out 4 times in the last 7 games. In the post season

With Kluber v Lackey tomorrow and Cleveland with the last two at home, I just don't see this team winning the Series.

My silver lining.....

Could you imagine being the guy who paid $3,000 a ticket to watch that shit show? [emoji38]

I'd be so angry drunk right now.
Imagine being the guy who been out there since early this morning..
What a waste of day and money to witness that crap

Mid season no one gives a shit. Little different when it's game 3 of the WS and your team hasn't won it in 100+ years. Not saying the series is over by any means.... but I get the angst.

This was the first real awful loss.

Josh tomlin.....the guy is a meatballer fly ball pitcher who I think led the al in hr allowed and we didn't do crap against him?

I thought tomorrow would decide the series but assumed we'd be up 2-1....now we face a huge challenge and problem with clev needing to do nothing but win klubers starts.

I guess the moron who wanted baez hitting cleanup was right.....at least he wouldn't have been up with 2 outs in the 9th!

That's baseball will probably lead to the Cubs losing the World Series. Kluber goes tomorrow. He's been unhittable all post season. Miller wasn't used much. That will mean Cleveland up 3-1 with 3 chances to close it

The Cubs have been shut out 4 of the last 7 games including two of these 3 World Series games.

They were 0-15 with men on base. They've been dreadful with men on base all series.

This isn't 'that's baseball'. This is a team absolutely shitting the bed offensively when it matters most.

If that's how you view baseball then you're always going to get crushed. I don't care what team you root for. The beauty of baseball is strange shit that shouldn't happen happens. Hall of fame players get out 70% of the time. They were 4 for 21 on balls in play between Tomlin and Shaw which is a .190 BABIP if my math is correct. Shaw and Allen were fairly dominant but they were always going to be.

Actually I'm pretty sure a situation like tonight is rare in World Series history. I think I heard them say that.

Damn.. All day I'm telling my buddies how all we need is a good start out of Hendricks tonight and the bats should easily hit tomlin

That what killing me with this team..
We go into a game hoping the starters don't collapse or bullpen falters but it mostly been the bats that loses it.

Another no show from this "all star" offense. Very rarely do one of the hitters come through in the clutch. Can't take advantage of great pitching matchup. Our chances of winning are slim to none with Kluber vs Lackey, then having to win 3 straight, 2 in Cleveland.

We keep hearing 'the bats'. Well, the bats have sucked pretty much all playoffs.

Shut out 4 of the last 7. Shut out 2 of the first 3 WS games.

0 for 15 with men on base to tonite

This team has just shit the bed offensively at the worst time. Just the cast of characters have changed. Now it's Bryant, Baez and Russell sucking with Contreras and Fowler bringing up the rear.

You realize this was literally the same situation the cubs ran into with the dodgers right? Obviously game 1 and two were flipped but Kershaw dominated the cubs bats game 2 just Kluber dominated them game 1. And the next time through the cubs beat Kershaw. There's no guarantees the cubs will win tomorrow but the point here is that works both ways. There's no guarantee Kluber is sharp.

What exactly are the cubs supposed to have done differently? I don't care who the starter is, if you have a .190 BABIP against any pitcher over 6.1 IP you're gonna lose games. The point is you don't really control where the ball goes once it's in play. Some days they land. Some days they are straight at guys.

Hard to feel confident in the Cubs winning 3 of the remaining 4. Not impossible though.

Agreed. With Kluber v Lackey tomorrow night I felt this series would go as tonite went. I haven't changed my mind and I hope I wrong, but I see disappointment in the stars for Bill Murray.

The whole team can't hit. What a disgrace!
