How in the world do you come home for the World Series, first in 71 years, and not even plate a single run? Unbelievable!

That's baseball will probably lead to the Cubs losing the World Series. Kluber goes tomorrow. He's been unhittable all post season. Miller wasn't used much. That will mean Cleveland up 3-1 with 3 chances to close it

The Cubs have been shut out 4 of the last 7 games including two of these 3 World Series games.

They were 0-15 with men on base. They've been dreadful with men on base all series.

This isn't 'that's baseball'. This is a team absolutely shitting the bed offensively when it matters most.

It won't be long til we will drop the "lovable" part and just call them "losers". They are earning the moniker. When you have an infield that is literally full of all stars and this is all you can muster you deserve to have your brains beat out. The tribe looked like they wanted it. The cubs didn't. Zero aggression at the plate. Zero show of emotion. Zero counts worked. Francona gets his boys pumped. Maddon does not. Just imagine if the team cared even one iota as much as the fans do. This series would be ending tomorrow night. No hustle. No heart. Period. Sucks to say it but that's just how I feel about it. I will be happy to be proven wrong but it's not looking good.

You realize this was literally the same situation the cubs ran into with the dodgers right? Obviously game 1 and two were flipped but Kershaw dominated the cubs bats game 2 just Kluber dominated them game 1. And the next time through the cubs beat Kershaw. There's no guarantees the cubs will win tomorrow but the point here is that works both ways. There's no guarantee Kluber is sharp.

What exactly are the cubs supposed to have done differently? I don't care who the starter is, if you have a .190 BABIP against any pitcher over 6.1 IP you're gonna lose games. The point is you don't really control where the ball goes once it's in play. Some days they land. Some days they are straight at guys.

How about hit the fucking ball?

If anything they were to aggressive at the plate. The k zone was favoring the cubs and they were still swinging at shit off the plate. If Cleveland wins tomorrow, the series is over. Indians have not lost 3 straight all season.

Fun fact: apparently "caring" allows you to hit a 97 mph fast ball. The more you know...

There were 7 times the Indians lost 3 straight this year. I think you meant to say they have not lost MORE than 3 straight all year. That is true.

You're the Cubs. That is literally the only explanation. We find new ways to make faithful people suffer.

Part of the problem that has always plagued good Cubs teams is the fucking pressure the fans and city puts on them with the whole *insert number of years since 1908* thing. In a way, the curse is real because people make it real.

I agree. It's time for Madden to start holding the players who aren't all in accountable.

19 of the 27 outs were hit in play. They "hit the fucking ball"..... right at people.
LOL. Most of those hits were weak and either off the handle or off the end of the bat. There's a reason BABIP was low tonight.

So what? Only they can do something to end that.

I don't understand how some of you can apparently be fans of baseball and get so apocalyptic about a 1-0 loss. This was easily the most "that's baseball" game ever. Cubs left guys on. They made hard contact right at people. Francona literally used his entire bench and his two best relievers in this game and won 1-0. That shit happens.
Well..
As a diehard for many many years of a team with few playoff appearances and zero championships in my lifetime.

When such team finally makes it to a world series after 71 years, and need to win 3 games out of 5..

There are no more "that baseball" games for you to say to yourself and be able to move on to the next game.

Like I've been saying , yes this team young and talented but there zero guarantee they will ever be in this position again, or to be here while I'm alive.. I'm 48

So, sorry.. I can't appreciate a 1 zip loss against them and accept it as just baseball..
Every game is big, and even more so now that they need to win 3 of 4 with 2 on road

There were at least 6 balls I can name off the top of my head lined right at defenders but whatever. It's pretty obvious people here want to wallow in the misery. The cubs lost 1 to fucking nothing but if you were to believe talk here they may as well have lost by 10 runs. If they literally came through on any of their 7 guys on base francona had no bench and would have already used both his best bullpen options. That's literally the difference in the game.

What a collection of assholes...newbees or refugees from the Bear Forum I would guess. Awwww, you mean the Cubs didn't make you happy with a win tonight...that's just heartbreaking. Why don't you all pack up and head back to the Bear Forum and ***** about Jay Cutler, after all...that is what you do best. The biggest bunch of fucking crybabies I've ever seen. The Cubs owe you nothing....follow them if you want, cheer for them, boo them but don't ever think it's their responsibility to make you happy by winning when YOU want them to. They play for each other....most times successfully, other times not. That's baseball and if you can't get a handle on that, you shouldn't be here in the first place.

My point is you're setting an impossibly high standard and that's honestly mental. Maybe the cubs win this series. Maybe they don't. But cubs fans don't "deserve" anything. Players don't miraculously play better because team is "due." You don't "will" a championship to happen. You go out there and you take your swings and throw your pitches. Some days you have it and the hits drop. Some days they don't. If people don't get that then I honestly don't see why you watch baseball. That's the game whether it's the regular season or not. Some times the 100 win cubs lose 2 of 3 to the lowly fucking brewers. That doesn't suddenly change because you're in the post season.

As I said earlier, we LITERALLY just saw this happen in the dodgers series when everyone wanted to jump off a fucking bridge going down 2-1 headed to LA. The next night the cubs bats got the hits they needed and they won 3 straight. And if for whatever reason the cubs lose this series it's not like they've been terrible. In a 2-1 series they are -3 in run diff(8-5).
