ESPN has been sucking off the Cubs all series and year. They finally say one nice thing about the Indians and you freak out. LOLOLOLO
Good to know as usual that you didn't address my post and just stated some wild bullshit.

Losing 1-0 has no impact on tomorrow. Literally none. I mean come on man you've been here all season. You've seen them go through that tough stretch before the all star break. You've seen them go down 2-1 to the dodgers with the possibility of facing Kershaw and Hill games 6/7. There's simply no reason to be so down over one game. If they lose tomorrow I could understand this level of fear and angst. But at least let them play the fucking game before people throw dirt on their grave. This team beat Kershaw. It beat Bumgarner. It's beat numerous other quality starters throughout the course of the season. We know it can happen. And to be honest, I'm no even sure the cubs need 4-5 runs. If they get 2-3 I think Cleveland will have trouble scoring because other than Ramirez and Lindor they aren't really knocking the cover off the ball either.
When did they beat Bumgarner?

A couple thoughts on last night:

1. The Cubs, despite being outplayed all night long, had a chance to tie/win a game they really had no business being in.

2. Sometimes baseball just defies all logical expectations. Not sure how it's possible that no one even hit the warning track last night, but it happened.

3. The Cubs did not have good plate approaches by and large, and as in the NLCS they were passing up hittable first pitch strikes in favor of being down in the count against breaking balls, for reasons I don't understand.

4. The Cubs RISP rate is going to regress to the mean.

5. Cleveland's scoring plays this series:

1 swinging bunt
1 HBP
1 solo HR
1 three run HR in garbage time
1 wild pitch
1 single

6. Cubs had some bad BABIP luck. There were a number of extremely hard hit balls that were right at the Cleveland defense. It is making Cleveland's pitching look better that it is.

Keep bringing up point 5 as the Indians hit and score against NL aces. What the **** did you expect them to do against CY Young calibre pitchers? They are up 2-1. They have shutout Cubs bats and they have hit when needed.

This is about fucking Tomlin pitching like he is CY Young candidate and Coco Fucking Crisp being clutch.

Please go away. You are annoying as hell. Find an Indians board to discuss.

First off, this is a best of 7 series. We still have games to play. This year I have seen us hit Madbum, Kershaw, Scherzer, etc.

Kluber was dealing in game 1 but he also had a favorable strike zone and it was our first time seeing him. Plus he's on short rest.

Let's see what happens. If he shuts us out again, I'll tip my cap to him. But he's got to do it first.

I was disappointed in our at-bats last night -- but this has happened all year to us. We've always bounced back. Cueto, Rich Hill, Moore, Kershaw, Tomlin, and Kluber have all locked us down. Yet we keep winning. If we defeat Kluber tonight, our whole outlook changes. Then we head into game 5 against the beatable Bauer.

Let's slay Goliath tonight.

Inconsistent K zone hurts both offenses last night-

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/an-inconsistent-strike-zone-hurt-both-teams-in-game-3/

CHICAGO — The Cleveland Indians won a 1-0 nail-biter on Friday night in Game 3 of the World Series. Two number-three starters succeeded in shutting down two strong offenses, allowing the game to come down to the final at-bat. But while the relievers were overpowering as usual, the most significant influence on this game wasn’t the wind, a single Indians hitter or managerial cleverness, but a seemingly inconsistent strike zone.

Home plate umpire John Hirschbeck has a reputation for calling balls and strikes erratically, and that was on full display last night, creating shifting strike-zone boundaries that bedeviled both offenses.1 For the Indians, Josh Tomlin turned in an unexpectedly solid line, allowing only two hits. At times, Tomlin was burned by bad calls, leading, for example, to a fourth-inning walk by Kris Bryant. But when the strike zone is called inconsistently, hitters tend to strike out more often and make weaker contact. That’s because pitchers can choose to target inconsistently called areas of the zone when it benefits them, while hitters can only decide whether to swing or not at what’s offered. When they’re uncertain, batters often opt to swing at pitches outside the zone, resulting in glancing contact and easy outs.

Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks, who usually gets favorable strike calls due to his impeccable command, struggled mightily in allowing six hits and two walks in only 4.2 innings. The shifting zone did aid him in racking up six strikeouts, above what you’d expect based on his regular-season stats.

Even as the inconsistent strike zone helped the pitchers, neither was overpowering. And with bullpens fresh after the day off, both starters were pulled before the 6th inning with the score 0-0, an event that has never happened before in MLB postseason history. That handed the game to the relievers, including an early appearance from Andrew Miller. They were as commanding as expected, except for one lapse by the Cubs’ Carl Edwards Jr., who allowed Coco Crisp to single in the lone run of the night.

The Cubs came close to evening the score in the bottom of the ninth. With two runners in scoring position and two outs, Chicago dynamo Javy Báez was up to bat against Cleveland closer Cody Allen. He struck out whiffing to end the threat, leaving the Indians up 2-1 in the Series.

The outlook for the Cubs is worrisome going forward: Their series win probability by Elo is down to only 37 percent.2 In his last start, Corey Kluber looked invincible, and the Cubs will have to face him in Games 4 and 7 of this Series (if it goes that far). That means they will need to pull off at least one upset against the 2014 AL Cy Young winner to clinch the series. While such a feat appears difficult, the Cubs managed an even more surprising performance against Clayton Kershaw in the NLCS, so it’s certainly possible. Nobody said ending a 108-year title drought would be easy.

CORRECTION (Oct. 29, 12:05 p.m.): An earlier version of this article incorrectly described Corey Kluber. He was the 2014 AL Cy Young winner; he is not the reigning winner.

Not mad or going anywhere. I have been the voice of reason in a board where the loudest voices are completely brainwashed and delusional to the point that they look to create imaginary scenarios where consensus calls for Cubs to suck or for the Cubs to be written off.

Typically, they create this "noise" to take attention away from the fact that until now they have been completely wrong in underestimating a very worthy opponent.
You aren't a voice of reason.

In the land of the blind the one eyed man is certainly king.
You haven't been on this forum until the WS. You aren't any different than the other casual fans who showed up to the forum during the post-season. What you are is an antagonist.

Cleveland comes out swinging and running aggressive and looks fired up. I don't think they're really all that great of a team but they just look like they want to win and are willing to do anything to get it done.

You guys are meatheads. Everyone discount the Indians. That's what the Red Sox, Blue Jays, and all the talking heads have done. Cleveland vs. the world!

And lol @ this forum. It's 2-1. It's not over. As an Indians fan, I'm still nervous as shit about the next 2 games in Chicago. I feel good about Kluber tonight. But it's no guarantee. The pitching has been the difference in this one. Only a couple of guys are hitting well for either team. Kluber is better than Lackey. But Kluber is working on 3 days rest. So it might be a wash tonight, even though Lackey has given up 5 earned runs in 8 innings this postseason. Let's hope that keeps up! Run support for Kluber tonight, please!

Good luck, and try to enjoy it. You never know when your team will make it this far again.

Cubs showed tonight that even with the most favorable of conditions (Cy young contender vs terrible pitcher)

Weird definition of terrible. That was vintage Josh Tomlin last night folks. He didn't pitch out his ass, he wasn't getting favorable calls. He was pitching to contact, which means he threw strikes with the intention of letting the cubs players hit it. Sometimes the lights just to bright.

Not being familiar with Tomlin, people must think his August starts are the norm. He's been a beast since his bad August, and he was solid before August. LOL @ Tomlin a "terrible pitcher." Be more ignorant, and get rekt harder(just CRM, everyone else: Good series so far, with 2 awesome teams! :p).

Best part....no matter how the series plays out....I don't have to live anywhere near Cleveland.

ESPN touting this as Francona outcoaching Maddon. True or not?

I thought they both made mistakes. Francona's worked out, but he could have gotten more from Tomlin yesterday and saved Miller. The Indians may win, but they may also run out of steam if Miller/Kluber are effected. So francona's decisions in game 3 are not done with.

Tomlin deserved the win yesterday, shortest hook I have ever seen. Gives up a single, runner moves with second out on a ground out, only given up 2 hits, and you yank him? Nahhh...he deserved to continue against Montero of all people. Unreal to me he isn't allowed to go after a broken catcher for that out, having thrown about 60 pitches, in the middle of one of the best games ever pitched in the world series.

But Maddon should not be let off the hook for bring in Schwarber to hit with 1 out and nobody on with the top of the order due up next inning, and Heyward/Baez in position should Rizzo/Zobrist get on.

I felt like it was inevitable the Cubs would get a baserunner in the ninth, and sure enough they did. Schwarber in the bottom 9, with a runner in scoring position...

hindsight? I mean I saw that and was thinking it in the eigth inning and cursed when Schwarber came up in a pointless situation so it wasn't hindsight for me, shouldn't have been for him.

(then again Francona probably thinking about game 6 and having a relatively rested Tomlin on short days.
