Maybe unrelated, but I heard several times that when Blink-182 was popular, they had the WORST live show in the history of entertainment.

I thought they were good when I saw them in 2009 but yeah I've heard the same thing. There is a live video on youtube of them performing "Stay Together for the Kids" and it isn't that great, especially because Tom DeLonge's voice changed A LOT.

I liked when they threw random songs into the instrumental part of "Dammit" like "No Scrubs" by TLC, "Forgot About Dre" by Eminem and "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice.

First thing I thought of was Lou Reed. Never heard much of his stuff (being younger) and then heard his stuff with Metallica. Holy Shit, how terrible was that garbage.

I know there's worse, but it popped in my head, so...

I have always loved Van Halen but I had the unfortunate experience of seeing them live with one of their kids playing(Wolfgang?) in 2008 and it was absolutely fucking terrible.

John Mayer. Fucking acoustic wallpaper.

The sad thing is that he can actually play and isn't a terrible vocalist either; he just treats his talents as a business and method of getting pussy (not sure that I can blame him for that).

Not sure who the worst is but there should be no question who the best is...Elvis.

My wife recorded a documentary of Elvis recording in the studio followed by a performance in Vegas. Just amazing, a natural performer.

I have the winner:

Milli Vanilli

Mainly because they never sang the songs they said they sang. In fact, I am not sure they could sing at all. Some background singer actually sang all the leads.
