What amazes me is that people think it's a birthright.
I can kind of see football player because you grow up Peyton and Eli playing with you and obviously you have the genetics for the body but coaching isn't like that.

And what if winning means benching Caleb Williams? Are you willing to hire somebody who demands the right to do that in 2025?

If the answer is “no” then forget about getting a good candidate. This no doubt applies to the Bears. George McCaskey has his DEI project and he’ll sooner watch more season get flushed down the toilet than see his social movement undermined.
Despite the fact the Eberflus was white, we totally get that you just don't think black people can be good in high positions. You don't have to keep saying it.

At the thought of a "great" hot coach not wanting to be around Williams. One of them not mentioned seems to want to be considered. Is that McVay?
The negative Nancys need to take their meds and go away at least for his rookie year.
We're Bears fans, we have off seasons and rookie years, don't take half of our hopes away with false negativity.

Kyle has coached exactly one excellent NFL QB in his career.

You might want to take a look at Matt Ryan’s stats in 2016 if you’re not interested in Shanahan.

However, there’s no way I’m trading premium draft picks for a coach.

The Bears need to fortify the lines with their top 4 selections next offseason.

It would have to be a positively sure thing I don't see that happening. That sure thing wouldn't leave his present sure thing situation.

It's just not worth the risk for us or them.
Unless they have some linemen in their pockets, or line coaches, or something to make up for the loss of picks.

Shanahan is like the worst best coach I've ever seen. There is no doubt that his scheme/playcalling is top notch. But the dude coaches scared and eventually tries to play not to lose. He has the most blown double digit 4th quarter leads in the NFL and in 49ers franchise history.

He definitely has had his issues in big games too. He blew that Super Bowl for Atlanta. He wasn’t great against KC either time.

I would mind if the Bears hire him as HC, but sure as hell, I wouldn't give-up any draft picks do do so..
I’m sorry you said shanahan hasn’t won any championships so that means you want a coach that has won a sb so I’m assuming you want bill belicheck or no one else?

Found this interesting:

7 times NFL teams traded draft picks for a head coach
Don Shula: 1970.
Bill Parcells: 1997.
Mike Holmgren: 1999.
Bill Belichick: 2000.
Jon Gruden: 2002.
Herm Edwards: 2006.
Bruce Arians: 2019.

It's 8, not 7. You forgot the latest one.

If you hire somebody solely for their DEI bonafides don’t be surprised when they can’t do the job. Wellness check on the Bears stadium hopes…or has Kevin Warren found a new raison d’etre “fixing” the broken Bears now that he’s dribbled that job down his leg.

Bears are seriously like the last organization on the planet aside from left wing non profits like this. Even the University of Michigan is abandoning DEI.
