Time for Paniking

And TVR is officially exposed.... unless trades prior to that draft. So does p
Panik, Hartman... and player x.

A *bit* expensive for my taste and right now someone has got to go. But, he out-goaled Toews, so he's got that going for him...which is nice.

If TVR gets taken, he gets taken. As much as I liked him I think the onus on the D next year is getting out D-core to *actually* play defense--rather than Keith pretending he's Brendan Leipsic and hanging around at the side of the net.

I don't believe two years for Panik is an arbitrary number. At that point...Kane and Toews will be early 30's while Keith, Crawford and Seabrook will be middle 30's and of course Hossa will be 40. I think this "core" as we know it, has two more shots with a few nips and tucks by Bowman to get it done one more time.

After that....things will get ugly.

We really need to replenish the core... I want Panarin to be part of that, but the dude disappears during the playoffs.... like the anti-Bickel

I think we need at least 2 new top 6 FWDs in the next 2 years.

Maybe those guys are Schmaltz and Motte... but neither showed enough this year... Schmaltz had flashes, but inconsistent and disappeared during playoffs.

The young guys like Panarin, Schmaltz, Kero, Hartman, Rassmussen have no excuse for being outskated or outworked... here's to hoping they pick their game up next year and don't vanish come playoffs.

That's been the end of the line for this core to be since Hammers deal, that's when it ends and I think Stan has got that making all these other deals like Panarins also end there.

That summer you also have Hjammer and Panarin needing new deals along with Schmaltz and Forsling coming off their sub-$1m ELC deals. That will be the summer of reckoning.

I heard somewhere that Hjalmarsson and Panarin have their deals ending that summer. Could make some sense.

Let's be honest, there are no excuses for Toews, Kane, or Keith being outskated or outworked...and they were these playoffs in spades.

Oh no argument here... in my head those are self-evident.

I was more getting at the young guys making certain mistakes or performing low in certain situations in the playoffs might be understandable.... nerves might make you shoot wild or pass wild at times... might take a dumb penalty.... etc.... but one of the things IMO especially the young guys should be doing well is skating/working hard....

I think they took Toews/Kane/Keith/Seabrook's lead and played down to their level, worked down to their level.

As for TVR...if its worth it to us, and it should be...we could dangle a second or third round pick.

I think that would make the decision difficult for Vegas. Not sure the rules revolving around 3 team trades, if Toronto would want to get in on that exchange somehow to end up with TVR.

Thats just a good nashville team. They are overwhelming everybody. It gave us a surprise, and a level to reach only a few teams have of attaining by a few tweaks or breakout players, only a few teams can say that and mean it.

We are one. In the words of Aaron Rodgers. R-E-L-A-X.

I'm impressed by how smooth Forsberg was in getting his shot in. Took me a few replays to catch when he actually did it.

Why the Blackhawks' championship window runs through 2019

The link is here

Posted this for a two reasons:
1) Because I still don't think this run is over
2) I got hired on as an associate editor for that site which means that my time at this site is going to diminish greatly over the summer and by next season I may not be around here at all. Been a pleasure talking Hawks with you folks over the years. Hope we got another Cup before this run is over, I know I haven't had my fill just yet.
