#called it. Even 1-1 going into Wrigg with Arrieta and Lester. Lackey has been the biggest thorn to the Cubs. May go 5 back to STL. unless the O can figure him out.

Still think it will end up a NYM CHC NLCS but it will come down to figuring out Lackey.

Lester is not starting Game 4... it will be Hammel or bullpen game.

Hendricks was really solid other than the 1st and the end of the 5th.

He gave up 3 HR on 5 hits... but other than the back-to-back to Wong/Grichuck in the 5th he was actually really good, lots of timely strike outs.

Jorge Soler was a STUD.

Thanks. I figured Soler would be. Was honestly worried as shit about Hendricks though good to hear he did enough to give them a chance.

Michael Wacha vs Cubs, batter vs pitcher

http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/32640/michael-wacha

overall a .311/365/566 slash line with 6 HR's

http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/splits/_/id/32640/michael-wacha

a half-run higher ERA on the road and at night with his splits too

21 IP, with 16ER vs the Cubs this year

and his September splits show a 7.88 era....he's not exactly pitching well as of late

Feeling realllllly good about Monday.

Thinking 3-1 Cubs....

Arrieta 7IP, 4H, 1ER, 0BB, 8K.

If Bryant & Rizzo get going, it'll be 7-1. I don't want to assume Arrieta is unstoppable Monday and jinx him. He got a bit unraveled a couple of times vs the Pirates

I dunno man. People have been saying he's due for a clunker for how many months now? He has 4 ERs in the last 2 1/2 months.

I don't see that changing on Monday unless the pressure of pitching at home gets to him. A clunker being 1 ER or MAYBE 2.

It's crazy. Arrieta has spoiled us.

All of the guys that are cold, they have to work back toward the mean, right? Or is it just because they're facing stiff competition? We didn't struggle this much with the Cardinals in the regular season did we?

Well the cards literally have a starting staff that put up an ERA within a few points of Bumgardner. On the other hand baseball is an averages game. Probably a little bit of both. To it me it suggests good things because if you can win without your best hitters you're usually a really good team.

Lester is not starting Game 4... it will be Hammel or bullpen game.

Almost force Lester to go on short rest game 4 to keep him from matching up vs Lakey. They win you want to put your #2 in to close it. If they lose you need Lester to keep alive.

Lackey is the issue. Not Wacha. He sucks. The only other guy that gave the Cubs issues is on the DL. So if they win game 3 you want to push Lester out to gain the advantage vs putting a risky starter up vs a calaber team.

Hendricks was going strong also but they started to get to him and he got yanked before it got real. There is no way that anyone would convince me that Hammel would fair any better.

So in reality getting Lester in for 4-5 makes perfect sense. If it forces them to start Lackey early that is fine also. He might be vulnerable then.

People are still here? I thought the series was over after 1 game. Hmmm

Oh and Kris Bryant has been substantially better at home than on the road all year. He has been almost twice the player at the plate OPS wise at home.

Wow, did you guys see the Mets get robbed? Utley should not have been safe, even after replay. That was a dirty fucking slide too, he was practically past second and made no effort to tag second. Terrible, terrible call.
