Looking at the pictures I never noticed the pucks while it was happening.

I would see players skate by with a puck but assumed they kept it as they went by.

Is this some sort of tradition that I am not aware of?
Some drills in warmups you grab a puck off the boards... the fact that they were right under your sign is a different story :) From my experience, pucks were normally left closer to the blue line.

they were acknowledging in your sign and showing their support. Same as a tap on the glass.

Not really, but I think that if you could remember who left the pucks, you'd see a real connection between them and DT.

They were making a statement.

Rocky "Meet the new Wirtz, Same as the old" Wirtz was fielding calls on WGN radio this morning. So I called in saying I wanted Rocky to comment on the efforts of Dale Tallon seeing as he assembled the team. The producer said, "Great question!", and promptly hung up on me.

I wasn't surprised.

I bet McD was sitting right next to the producer listening to calls and hanging them up if he didn't like them.

You really think WGN cares what questions are asked? Now if it was a CSN broadcast show I would think differently.

I would have given them some song and dance and then slide the question in once on air.

Yeah, of course my dumbass thought of doing that after I was hung up on...

Actually, once they went into the playoffs, all requests for interviews has to be approved with the front office, and a list of questions has to be pre approved by said front office.

That's why Pierre LeBrun's interview with JT was kind of a coupe. He got to JT with the news on DT's new job before McDummy could do anything about controlling the press and access to the players.

From Puck Daddy yesterday:

The playoffs must be tough for Dale Tallon, the one-time Chicago GM who is now in charge of the Florida Panthers.

On the one hand, Tallon was unceremoniously fired by the Chicago Blackhawks, which had to leave him at least a little upset with the franchise. But on the other hand, true or not, the success of the Blackhawks is tied to Tallon, as the team's previous GM. As the Blackhawks succeed in the postseason, it only makes Tallon look like a smarter GM. Does he root for his reputation or his sense of revenge? It's a tough call.

GMs like to pretend they only care about the success of their own teams, but the fact of the matter is, a lot of times, the success of one team hinges upon the failure (or success, as we see with the Ducks-Flyers connection) of another team.

And let's face it. The huge stage the NHL postseason provides is a great forum for seeing a lot of old debts get settled and a lot of old slights get avenged.

Did anyone catch Kane's interview with Mike and Mike this morning. It aired at 8:10AM. Interested to see what they asked him.

Ironic that it was LeBrun, but then again maybe not. For whatever it's worth: When LeBrun's story came out I sent him a Tweet (that still sounds stupid to say) thanking him because a lot of us Hawks fans felt Tallon was given a raw deal by the new regime. I got a quick reply throught Direct message and let's just say he sees it the same way.

What a dreadfully boring interviewee Patrick Kane is.
He sounded like he just woke up, heh.

"I'm sorry, I still have disappointment today that you can probably hear in my voice,'' ****** said. "Chicago's still a very important time in my career. It still bothers me given all that I had given to the franchise, I never got the chance there to follow through.''

Dale? No, Keenan. Let's hope that history is not repeated in the future.

What is interesting is that this thread has nearly a 1,000 views to it.

Makes me wonder who all has been lurking and observing.

Wow, thats a huge number, and I feel like the new IHN has been far less busy than the old one, we did lose a shit ton of members even if a lot of them weren't active posters.

Hopefully Tallon has seen stuff like this, but I bet he isn't too concerned about what the public think considering when he was around this team few gave a shit about the team. Then McD came in with a whole lot of surface bullshit, took his players to push the surface bullshit, and canned him. God if I were Dale I would have beat the shit out of that ******. All I hope is that one day the Hawks organization becomes on of pure class, all those involved in the actual game of hockey ooze class, but the President and his pawns are full of shit. And one day when someone tells me what Rocky did to get the Hawks I will be able to say he's full of shit, til then all I know is that Rocky always is fresh off a line of coke with those shit eating grins.
how the hawks were built
What's more interesting is is this SUN-TIMES (ROCKY PART OWNER) made no mention of McD contributing anything toward how the hawks were built. Interesting to see how that writers career goes from here.
