What's more interesting is is this SUN-TIMES (ROCKY PART OWNER) made no mention of McD contributing anything toward how the hawks were built. Interesting to see how that writers career goes from here.
I was hoping someone would pick that up.... 19 must've been asleep.
Naww. I saw it. The one that pissed me off was calling Scooter the architect of this team on the Bleacher Report.

I think it's funny that the only things you were able to read about McMonkey lately were things you couldn't post on. Just press snippets of who was seen around town. Even Rozner (McMouthpiece) has been pretty quiet lately.

oh CSN had a nice little "fluff" piece on him this morning. This team was built to win BEFORE he arrived here. Winning and a little marketing a two year old could have accomplished got them to where they are now. They were going to WIN anyway.

"was it faster than you invisioned John"....?

Of course not or he would have never come. He knew how futile the North Side was becoming. He knew OWNERSHIP there was changing and that most likely HE'D be gone.

Mcdonough you aren't fooling anyone except maybe that BANDWAGON you appear to love so much.

Well here's a personal anecdote...

I did the rare thing for me, I went out with some co-workers on Friday for Game 3. I really hate going out for games because I love being able to sit down and focus on the game with all of my stats pulled up in front of me. Not only that, but the hockey snob in me HATES the average hockey novice that have been running rampant all over the city the past month and a half. Nothing irritates me more than when I hear "oh what was a great block by the goalie" or "icing is when a player stops in front of the goalie and ice goes in his eyes" yes, I heard both of those on Friday. Try as I may, I CANNOT keep my mouth shut and feel the need to correct every little thing someone says about hcokey... this becomes tiresome for both me and the persons being corrected.

Anyways... not having certain knowledge that many of you have about the front office, I got into an argument with said "hockey novices" after the discussion at the table took a turn. Someone said "Wow... John McDonough brought his success from the Cubs over to the Blackhawks and in just a few short years hockey is back and the team is playing great, where the hell was McDonough over the past decade?". You guys know how I can get just normally and after a few beers... I had to let them have it. At the end of the conversation I was the "idiot" because I didn't know that John McDonough brought hockey back to Chicago.

Needless to say, and the chat from that night can back me up, I was home for the start of the 2nd period, lol.

I have run into the same ignorance. A simple question to ask those people is "What success did John bring to the Cubs"? Expensive tickets for a team that still has not won a title?

This plays into McD's favor and he relishes it. The true fans know it and is the reason why he is boo'd at the convention that he started.

If you can't dazzle them with diamonds

then baffle them with bullshit.
"I'm sorry, I still have disappointment today that you can probably hear in my voice,'' ****** said. "Chicago's still a very important time in my career. It still bothers me given all that I had given to the franchise, I never got the chance there to follow through.''

Dale? No, Keenan. Let's hope that history is not repeated in the future.
I don't see Mark Messier waiting in the wings FLA to win Tallon a Cup. Please, Keenan hasn't done shit sine 1994, coincidence? No.

Also fails to mention Keith and Seabrook being drafted....oh that's right the rebirth started later and they are not key pieces.

Keenan didn't exactly need Messier to deliver results with decent teams.

Flyers:

84-85 lost in Final

86-87 lost in Final

Hawks:

88-89 lost in Conference Final

89-90 lost in Conference Final

91-92 lost in Finals

Shitcanned in the beginning of 92-93. Coincidence?

In 92-93, the Hawks lost in the first round of the playoffs

in 93-94, round 1 exit

94-95, round 3 exit

95-96 round 2 exit

96-97, round 1 exit.

97-98 began a streak where they didn't make the playoff...

Just a question but where exactly do you think this thread would be on the officials? BTW I found out who deleted my post. My appology to the Mods as it was a higher being.

It would have been deleted. McMonkey has tried everything he can to bury Tallon and erase him from the history books. Unfortunately, he has underestimated Hawk fan's intellect and their distain for bullshit. (and beanie babies)

He tends to rub people the wrong way, but given the players, has produced results.

Maybe we could start another thread with titles such as......

McDonough, The Man Following Pulford's Rulebook On Treating Others

If You Can't Dazzle Them With Diamonds, Baffle Them With Bullshit

The Man Who Brought Back The Legends Yet Creates Same Enviroment

The Players Know Who The Real Architect Was

OMG JESSE POSTED MY QUESTION!

Mikko (Helsinki, FI)

Hey Jesse... why is there no talk or no love for Dale Tallon around the sports websites/radio waves? It's all "McDonough this, Bowman that" when in realty, Dale Tallon is responsible for this team's successes.

Jesse Rogers

He's gotten some. Dudley deserves it too. Obviously if you're gone you're a little out of people's thoughts but he deserves a lot.

Notice how he answered without giving any credit to McDonough/Bowman. Nice!
