I don't think you can see that the boys were leaving pucks beneath the sign, but Tallon's family could see it. It was a touching moment. Thanks IHF

you can see the first one being placed in the first picture.

(McD probably didn't even catch the meaning. Probably thought they were just loose pucks. LOL)
Thanks for the pics. I was not aware of the pucks below the sign and knowing that certain

individuals appreciated the gesture makes it all worthwhile. Just trying in my own little way

to be more open about has happened within this organization and those that are not getting credit yet deserve most of it. You can take the sign anyway you want to. I desire that it is saying thanks to Dale yet others have taken a different view of the sign. You can each be the judge. During warmups a number of players tapped the glass and gave a nod

as they skated by.
That's what is great about it- it can be taken as a shot or just giving credit.

The sign was perfect, low key, but delivering a point.

I thought it was great that the players acknowledged it!

I will share an interesting story. Prior to and after the game while walking through the concourse I was holding the sign down by my side not really making it noticeable. After the game I am walking through the concourse and a gentleman with another couple dressed in suits and dresses is looking at the sign while they are standing there and I am walking by. He gives me a thumbs up and smiles and I acknowledged it with a smile back. As I pass him I thought I heard someone yell "Hey". I turned around and he is looking at me with his hand out to shake my hand. Nothing was really said other then a brief shake of our hands.

Those are the moments that I appreciate.

Since some of these boys know you...it must have been a little touching seeing them grow up and make the finals. In regards to the sign, it was awesome and was worth the praise you received back from the team.

Great job IHF. As soon as I get a chance, I will post the pics i took during warm ups. However, I just went home and relaxed to soak up what I had just experienced.

I was standing down there for warmups and a lot of the players acknowledged it, really an awesome sight for sure. Yesterday was just a very rewarding day, a lot of us have been through the really lean years, this makes it all worth it... 4 more to go boys.

Plus I also got a picture of Tony, NOT behind a camera, shocking, I know.

They've played that on the radio in recent weeks leading up to the playoffs. I mean... it's KIND OF funny... but seriously?

Pat honestly had to be drunk that night because he laughed so hard he had to leave the booth.

you have to remember, that this was the early 90's when hat was said. People didn't say weenie on air, so it was hilarious at the time. People your age have grown up with all sorts of things in the media which we were never allowed to say on air when we were your age. That's why the over 40 crowd still thinks it's funny.

Just because you're a TV star now doesn't mean you can come in here and insult the way us kiddies type on the internets!

I saw that big red mohawk on National TV TWICE yesterday. Also heard you were interviewed by Fox?

I found this blog interesting;

Let's look at how Tallon built these Blackhawks:

•Jonathan Toews: drafted 3rd overall in 2006.

•Patrick Kane: drafted 1st overall in 2007.

•Niklas Hjalmarsson: drafted 108th overall (fourth round) in 2005.

•Antti Niemi: signed as a free agent rookie on May 5, 2008.

•Patrick Sharp: acquired from Philadelphia on Dec. 5, 2005 with Eric Meloche for Matt Ellison and a 2006 3rd round pick.

•Kris Versteeg: acquired from Boston on Feb. 3, 2007 for Brandon Bochenski.

•Ben Eager: acquired from Philadelphia on De. 18, 2007 for Jim Vandermeer.

•Andrew Ladd: acquired from Carolina on Feb. 26, 2008 for Tuomo Ruutu.

•Marian Hossa: signed as a free agent on July 1, 2009.

•Tomas Kopecky: signed as a free agent on July 1, 2009.

•John Madden: signed as a free agent on July 2, 2009.

•Brian Campbell: signed as a free agent July 1, 2008.

•Cristobal Huet: signed as a free agent on July 1, 2008.

•Brent Sopel: signed as a free agent on Sept. 28, 2007.

•Jordan Hendry: signed as a free agent on March 18, 2006.

These are just the roster moves made while Tallon was sitting in the GM's office. From 1998-2002, Tallon served as the Director of Player Personnel under another GM who's name sounds like Mulford but won't ever be mentioned here. Then in 2003 Tallon was named the assistant GM for the same idiot who, with Dollar Bill Wirtz, was responsible for the collapse and decay of the Blackhawks franchise.

While sitting in his two previous positions, though, Tallon was responsible for the draft strategy and talent evaluation of the team. In the drafts while he was in those roles, consider the following draft picks:

•Duncan Keith: drafted 54th overall (second round) in 2002.

•Adam Burish: drafted 282nd overall (ninth round) in 2002.

•Brent Seabrook: drafted 14th overall (first round) in 2003.

•Dustin Byfuglien: drafted 245th overall (eighth round) in 2003.

•David Bolland: drafted 32nd overall (second round) in 2004.

•Troy Brouwer: drafted 214th overall (seventh round) in 2004.

When you consider the roles that these six players have had this season, highlighted by Keith's Norris Trophy nomination, and the reality that Seabrook is the only first round pick among them, it's clear that Tallon has a fabulous eye for talent.

As Tallon moves on to Florida, we wish him the best and congratulate Panthers fans on having one of the great men in the game joining their team.

From the Committed Indians everywhere, thank you, Mr. Tallon, for the work that you did building this team.

What's the deal with attachments? They just show up as broken to me. Is there some option that needs to be enabled to see them properly? I can see all of the other embedded stuff just fine.

The weird part is I can right-click the file and open it fine in a new tab. Not sure why it won't display it in the thread though.

Looking at the pictures I never noticed the pucks while it was happening.

I would see players skate by with a puck but assumed they kept it as they went by.

Is this some sort of tradition that I am not aware of?
