Meanwhile Keenan has done what other than leave scortched earth wherver he's been?
He tends to rub people the wrong way, but given the players, has produced results.
he has proven he can coach, but can only stay in one place for so long as he wears on players very quickly.

his record as a GM sucks holy balls. Keenan actually started the downward spiral of this organization with his awful drafts. Lucky for him Mike Smith came along and trumped those drafts with even uglier drafts of his own.
Excellent points!

Ironic the same he was being paid as GM......... To just go away. Nice loyalty there alright.

I was NEVER a huge Tallon fan, but it is undeniable the finger prints he has ALL OVER this team. From top to bottom. From draft to trade to UFA signings.
We'll see just how good DT is at building teams as he has a lot of work to do in South Florida. I think he will do a very good job there.
He has already proven what he can do under less than idea circumstances by looking at the team an entire city is cheering right now. Florida will be interesting. If the ownership is serious in building a team, he's a guy who can assemble the staff and the players, but it's not going to happen overnight.

If you ever needed proof that Jay Mariotti is a moron......

"The franchise is guided by visionaries who weren't afraid to dismiss in-house icons Dale Tallon and Denis Savard when they stumbled in the general manager and coaching roles. And the Hawks are marketed by a public-relations savant, John McDonough, who emphasized an aggressive, high-visibility sales plan and somehow one-upped his previous bit of genius in turning an aging Wrigley Field into an American shrine."

Man, I never hated that guy like most seem to but this puts me over the edge. Yeah, Dale "stumbled" in his GM role. What a fucking ass licker. Is he trying to get a job with McDumbass writing that crap?

Visionaries? Really? Sounds like someone was trying to get their press credentials for today's media day and the dick-sucking line for McDonough was a little too long.

Normally when I read an opinion piece from a so called "reporter" I take it

as just that, an opinion. What makes Jay's piece vomitable is that as a sports

reporter he should know better then to spew crap like that. If he doesn't know

better then he is a total jagoff and if he does know better he is even a bigger

jagoff because he is totally in somebody's ass.

On another note, this thread has 167 replies as of right now and 1,325 views.

Lots of lurkers it appears.

That's twice in a day I've agreed with you. I almost felt sorry for him.

Almost.

The fact that Stan can't give an interview must be why Mcshithead puts his daddy in the interviews instead of Junior.

People know that Scotty knows the game while TAO is nothing more than McDonough's mannequin.

True, TAO really is like a personality-less puppet.
Maybe TAO should use a teleprompter.
It looked liked he was using cue cards yesterday.

Not exactly a NHL GM persona on the stage...
