Flyers offered him a 3 year deal worth over 2 Plus mil per year. Youre a Canuck add it up.

"ESPN is reporting that the Flyers have reached out to Marty and offered him a 3 year deal worth only a total of $6 million"

"Before turning his eye to Nabokov, however, Holmgren had quietly received the green light from Dallas to speak to another soon-to-be-free netminder, Stars UFA Marty Turco.

In fact, Holmgren offered Turco a three-year deal worth roughly $6 million (or a bit more than $2 million per season). The 34-year-old Turco, who confirmed the offer via text message, politely declined, opting Thursday to test the market.'

Which BS is it you are talking? Be careful buddy we are all well aware of the Canuck BS. In fact I can't wait to see my Buddy Shane and collect my 100 BUCKS! Players are just like the fans.

I'm talking about 82 and 94, the only times they reached the finals. Everything else is just playoff failures...

Ouch. And thus why Canuck fans can't talk shit to anyone.

And yes Turco took over a 4 mil $$ pay cut to play here. Funny everyone in the ENTIRE NHL would come to Chicago if they could. How times have changed.

Well at least your team can always shoot to be like the Sharks, at least they are top seed in the West it seems like every year.

except we loose in the 2nd round, not first. Just enough to give hope, and then rip it away.

They didn't quite breeze through the first round last year either. And on paper the Kings are better than the Canucks this year.

We'll see. Sorry the Canucks Defense SUCKS ASS!

They have ONE scoring line and a goalie who over acheives in the regular season. How the Hockey News rates them that high is a mystery.

And I'm smoking the same thing that tells me Turco took a 4mil PLUS pay cut to play here.

Re: 2010-2011 Season Media Standings Predictions/Previews Th

I think the Canucks are an improved team but I certainly don't think they are conference champion material let along Cup contenders. Gotta get that C off Luongo and they need a new coach. Until that happens they will not get through the second round of the playoffs. AV is a horrible coach in the playoffs. He gets beat like a rented mule in them. Any coach can get that Canucks squad to the playoffs they do have talent there. It's playoff coaching that is needed with the Canucks. And of course a level headed goalie who isn't captain. What on earth ever made them think that was a good idea? Yikes. Stupid ideas like that from Presidents, managers and coaches will always hurt a team.

And you nuck fans (canucklehead) need to get over 94. That was 16 years ago lol. Great team, fun to watch and a great series against the Rangers and it was close..but it was 16 years ago. Agree the 94 team is the blueprint team even though it was a different league. Had a boat load of skilled and character players back then. But again it was 16 freaking years ago. I have never heard a fan base of any sport cling to "what if" scenerios so much. Not the only team in the history of the NHL to come that close to winning a cup. Move on.

Anyways always fun to smack talk the Canucks. But moving on....

Tough to make pre-season predictions in this league. I don't think there is a clear stand out team out there. Again every tgeam has some holes that are glaring. While the Hawks lost a lot of players like everyone knows the core is there and we still have one of the best bluelines in the game. Hawks will be a hard team to beat and should be able to compete for the conference again. Lets see how they react to a new challenge of defending the cup. I like RK think LA is going to be a very strong team. San Jose didn't lose any fire power, Yotes should be tough hell I think people are underestimating Colorado a little, etc etc etc.

In the East I wouldn't be shocked if the Flyers pull off a strong season..god they need a goalie though. Ovechkin schmovechkin. Caps go nowhere until they build from the blueline. Regular season they will be phenominal again but playoff time they will sink.

I wish there were 6 teams in the league. Be easier to run down all the teams.

Re: 2010-2011 Season Media Standings Predictions/Previews Th

I thought they were already taking the C away and giving it to H. Sedin.

Luongo losing 'C'

7:41AM ET

Roberto Luongo | Canucks

After much speculation that Roberto Luongo would lose his captaincy, it looks like it's finally happening. DobberHockey.com's Jeff Angus tweets that Henrik Sedin is taking over the captaincy, and that Luongo won't stand in the way of it.

Luongo was the NHL's only goalie captain, which drew a certain amount of criticism from commentators -- especially when the Flames exited the playoffs early this season. So if this report is true, perhaps the Flames felt the same way about their leadership situation.

Meanwhile, Luongo's contract is still being investigating by the NHL, although it's unlikely anything comes of it.

It's all still speculation here in Vancouver.
