The waiver process is so dumb in this situation. All 30 teams had a fair chance to sign him previously, but they didn't. Now since 1 team signs him all other teams have a chance to scoop him up? Just doesn't make sense to me and puts the player in a bad position.

Yeah, one of the stupidest things.

Agree in a way, but, it prevents teams from using the European leagues as a type of second minor league team. It's an awkward situation for sure. I don't feel the least bit bad for him, though. He and/or his agent, Zito, played hardball this past offseason. Thinking he's a top 6 player, they wanted top 6 money. No team was going for it, so off to the KHL he went. He has hardly been successful out there, so he tries to come back here. Classic overestimation. C'est la vie. Mittens will have a little piece of my heart for sticking it to his former team, Dallas, in the last game of the year last season, though.

So much for Crosby's triumphant comeback. All the Pens fans were getting a hard-on because Crosby was going to pass Phil Kessel even without being there for a quarter of the season. I guess not. It's a good thing for other teams in the league and the east, because the Pens without Crosby are pretty scary, let alone with Crosby.

I've been reading him ever since we had a little discussion about him here. I was of the camp that he's completely full of shit and I started out reading him more often in hopes to pull together some cohesive stats about his hit percentage but it's near impossible to do... there's just so much shenanigans coming from him.

So hard to keep track of that much goofy shit.

Ladd isn't any of those. Byfuglien is.

...as of late there are just too many hawk players that we argue "points arent everything". when you add so many of those up, you have a reason to be concerned

Buff has 21 points through 30 games this year. 6g 15a

That's more points. Buff also had 2x more hits and 2x more blocks than Ladd. Stats. You like stats. Just so long as we're not counting wins as stats.

2 dman is a nice dream, and would really make it easy for whoever our shit box goalie is.

Buff plays 23:46 a game.

We're using time on ice as a judge of talent now? No. It just shows that Buff is that hard to find 2 D man. I also mention TOI because Keith plays 26:04 (8th highest in the league), Seabrook plays 23:14 and LEDDY plays 22:33. Bringing in another D man that can eat up a lot of minutes can only help Keith's game and when Keith is at his best, the Blackhawks are clearly at their best.

Rather than throwing Keith and Sharp on the PP1, you can let Keith rest as needed and put Buff and Sharp out there. Buff has a better point shot anyways. Or you know- throw Buff in front of the goalie. I think that has worked in the past...

Last but not least, and this has to do with my last point- Buff is more versatile. He can eat up a lot of minutes as a D-man while producing points OR you can throw him up front for a different look when the mood strikes. Being able to roll out a Kane Toews Buff line whenever you want is a pretty powerful tool to have.

assists add to total points no? he is a dman no? dont think his points arent a bit skewed?

It isnt always about points but you cant have every player on the team that has low ass points and think as a collective group the team is going to be good.

Id be willing to bet majority of hockey fans that follow the game more than from the surface, or fan favorite sentimental championship type players ala aaron rowand would choose Ladd.

buff also shows up when he wants to show up. He is a very inconsistent player, and I know this is breaking your heart because you still cant let him go, he just isnt worth the money. but lets all hang out hats on the vancouver series.
