I'm pretty sure that nobody thought Brunette would save our team. I know that when I found out he was coming, I thought he would be with Kane and Toews and would be good on the PP and getting ugly goals. He isn't on that exact line, but he has been good on the PP and getting ugly goals. Hmm....exactly what was expected of him. Don't expect him to be the great. He's average and I think everyone that posts here can admit that.

I just love Brunette so much and can't see past my blinding love for him.

PP2 that we will probably see tonight...

Montador, Kruger, Brunette
Leddy, Keith

With Montador stationed in front oof the net. Lets go ahead and call this the ugly goal line.

Interesting, I'm personally not a fan of it. 3 dmen, a forward in Kruger who doesn't have more than 5 NHL goals, and Brunette who doesn't have wheels.

I much rather have guys that are proven assets over the years out there. I realize that right now those guys (Kane, Seabrook, Toews, Sharp, Hossa, Bolland, etc) aren't getting the job done - but I think splitting those guys up and swapping them around would be better than this.

Worth a shot at this point I suppose, just my feelings on it.

Good thing about that line is that there wont be any extra passes or pretty play attempts... Basically the stuff that some people are complaining about.

Could be just the right mix. Keith brunette and leddy moving the puck with Kruger and Montador crashing. If they bring energy, they will score.

Im more excited about seeing this line than the standard top line of stars.

Looks like Emery is starting vs CBJ. Makes sense as the Blackhawks have back to back games and Crawford has been struggling and has become visibly frustrated a few times.

EDIT: Now some reports saying Crawford. Regardless, I would expect them to split the next two games.

Couldn't be happier to be wrong. Still not a long term solution in my eyes but definitely providing a spark.

I still don't understand why Scott is in the game. He isn't fighting and he isn't playing defense. And he isn't parking his ass in front of the goalie. All he is doing is being a waste of a hockey player.

John Scott
said that the St. Louis Blues' Ryan Reaves has always been scared of him. Scott tried to pick a fight with Reaves after the Blues winger leveled Patrick Kane, but Reaves declined. Reaves later fought Daniel Carcillo, who is about 60 pounds lighter. "If he wants to fight someone, he should fight someone in his weight class and that's me," Scott said. Scott has played in five games this season and has surprisingly spent no time in the sin bin. "I can't find a fight for the life of me this year," Scott said. "It has been a frustrating year in that regard. I don't know what I have to do." (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Tonight we are, but it's the Blue Jackets. I just don't understand why he's playing.

He had 11 minutes of ice time, 2 blocked shot and a few hits, i'd say he is doing something right to get that playing time. Not to mention when Scott was out there the Nash line was out there. So him and Monty did a good job of keeping them off the board

He wasn't dreadful against the Blues (a -1 off the top of my head... might be wrong) so he got more playtime and was decent tonight. Had a few fine plays tonight where I actually said to myself 'good job you big freaky piece of shit'

The coaching staff isn't playing him to piss people off. You can bet they're watching him and if he's still getting ice time, he's doing something right. I'm not totally sure why Lepisto is riding pine... I don't mind his game at all, but Scott was just about serviceable in the last two games.

And by the way, if John Scott being the 6th D-man is your biggest concern from the 2 games prior to this Columbus game- you have no idea what you're watching.
