Certainly take Abdelkader over Mayers but not for Hammer & make our defense look AHL material after Keith/Seabs.

Semin will come here & shootz the pucks & stuffz. :troll:

Semin isn't bad... 6.7 PS with 4.9 OPS and 1.8 DPS is pretty solid, although he has regressed two years running now.

No one said he is bad. In fact, he is pretty damn good regardless of his negatives. Still not at the top of my list for the several reasons I've given.

Joe was acting as if he wasn't good in the post I quoted.

In an ideal world I'd like to see two trades happen:

Move Stalberg (sorry tbo, gotta sell high!) for a top 4 defenseman
Move Hjalmarsson for a top 6 forward

You'll probably have to add pieces to either Stalberg or Hjalmarsson to make those moves but those are two players I could see the Hawks getting a decent return for without leaving huge holes in their departure.

Thats probably the best way to sum it up. Stalberg amongst other things would have to go to obtain a top 4 d man especially if he has more than one year on his belt. And all day long you move stalberg!

I much rather trade Stalberg at the deadline versus the offseason. Just seems like a smarter move because the Hawks could use Stalberg at that point to address whatever needs there are to make a final push for the season.

Yea but if someone offers you a top player now and the key component of the deal is stalberg I trade him now. Lol
