Most people are realizing, finally, that this is the case. The huge contract was a mistake. Oh well.

I'm sure Desbro and the usual suspects have already made excuses (I watched at the bar so haven't seen what's been posted). First pick was probably the slot receiver rather than Cutler, not being physical enough. Second pick was probably Marshall's fault. Obviously since we had 170+ yds from Forte and multiple Cutler ints, Rodney won't be around this week. Not that it's predictable or anything.

There are a few truly lost causes. But most people are coming around.

It is bigger than that. You could make that case when we had a good defense with Lovie. We will never win a championship with this defense. We could have Peyton Manning or Tom Brady in their prime and we wouldn't win one with this defense. You would see 12-4 teams that bow out in the playoffs.

Also, actually, for the record, those QBs you mentioned have been to NFCCGs and SBs with pretty shitty Ds, and in fact Manning won his with a historically bad running D. But that besides the point. The D is shit and needs to improve ASAP, but that is irrelevant when it comes to far too inconsistent QB play. That loses you games even with a good D.

Jay had a rough second half, the defense was bad all game and the only real bright spots were Forte, Bennett and the O-line.

Hopefully being embarrassed at home this badly will lead to some positive changes. Still baffled how they played zone all game and very rarely brought any pressure.
