I told you guys in October that there was no way in hell Emery & Trestman were allowing Cutler to leave. It was simply common sense.
Emery's goal from day 1 was to make sure Jay Cutler would remain a Chicago Bear. Since taking over as GM, he has:
-Traded for Cutler's buddy, Brandon Marshall
-Removed Lovie Smith
-Hired Marc Trestman and Aaron Kromer
-Removed Brian Urlacher & his political power
-Re-tooled the O-Line
-Signed Martellus Bennett
-Developed Alshon Jeffery
I also mentioned that a deal was already in place between Cutler & the Bears months ago.
Below is my post from the Robbie Gould re-signing from last week:
It was all a smokescreen from day 1.

I personally believe that a deal has already been reached. They just haven't formally announced it yet.
Probably this week or next.

http://www.chicitysports.com/forum/...Robbie-Gould-Signed-to-4-year-Extension/page3I think he purposely "broke" the rule with Gould's announcement, so it won't look like a suspicious double standard when he announces Cutler's extension early next week .
