Yeah the Hawks have always made it known and then they've almost always then gotten rid of or benched that waste of a roster spot when it's shown he can't fucking contribute and they're forced to shorten their bench because of it. How many times do they need to do that until it clicks? We're probably looking at Morin getting the shit end of the stick once again this season because Stan signed that asshole and Q will play his dumbass come hell or high water. If he played Bollig over him what's to stop him from playing, according to you, a "better player" in Carcillo over him?

Problem is, they don't have very many defensive d-men. Adding Leddy doesn't solve that.

He does give the Isles a good future PP QB if anything.

Shit off season?

They got Richards who is a 2nd line C to play with Kane and Saad. They had to get rid of someone and Leddy was the most realistic to get back the best return.

We added Carcillo as our 13th forward, who gives a ****? Everyone acts like he's awful when in reality he has more skill than Bollig and can play a regular shift. Sure he plays over the line sometimes, but he's a 4th line grinder. The Hawks have always made it known they want a guy like him in the lineup. Don't like it? Watch the Redwings. Can't say 2 cups in 3 years is really doing a lot wrong.

The offseason is shit because they already had two useless fucks that they needed to drop in Rozsival and Versteeg. Now they lost one of their better puck moving defensemen, and added Carcillo. They did this to themselves by overpaying guys by a million here, and a million there. Now it is coming back to bite them in the ass. The Carcillo signing also probably means Morin gets fucked once again. Might as well just trade him already.

I don't see the Hawks competing for a cup dressing those 3 assholes night in and night out, but whatever. We'll see if the stars can carry them kicking and screaming.

Anyone remember when the Hawks won two cups with worthless plugs?

Yeah I also remember them having multiple players who would go on to captain other teams as well. That was one of, if not the most stacked NHL team in recent hockey history. Easily within the salary cap era.

If it was true in 2010, then, of course, it must apply to the 2013 team, too.

If nobody wants Roszival and Versteeg, how do you expect to get rid of them?

To be honest, Versteeg didn't look too bad so far this preseason.

Your forwards are:

Sharp-Toews-Hossa

Saad-Richards-Kane

Bickell-Shaw-versteeg

Smith-Kruger-Morin

Carcillo

The reason we have carbomb is he's making the league minimum. Plus this keeps a kid in rockford who isn't going to develop much in the show on the 4th line. He's your 13th forward and he's not as bad as everyone is making him out to be. Shit, he's an upgrade over Bollig.

Defense:

Seabs-Keith

Oduya-Hammer

Rozy/Runblad/Cumiskey/TVR

Don't forget that Clendening and Dahlbeck could be called back up and Cumiskey and TVR sent down and we are still under the cap.

Again, if he's an "upgrade" over Bollig and Q was playing Bollig over Morin last season (hell, he was dressing Brookbank as a forward over playing Morin), what do you expect to happen this season with Carcillo? Unfortunately it'll probably be Morin as the 13th foward, not Carcillo. How do you think that makes him feel after re-signing here? How do you think that would make other younger players in Rockford feel about their chances seeing that sort of stupid bullshit? And people wonder why Kevin Hayes didn't sign here.

And the whole thing about not developing much on the 4th line is bullshit because the Hawks have been using that line as their shutdown line for a few years now. It's not a traditional 4th line (outside of the traditional useless player Q will dress on that line, Carcillo, Bollig, Scott, etc).

I don't know why everyone's bitching about Carbomb anyway.... Its not like he's going to play a full season.... either due to injury or suspension....

How is it bullshit?

4th line guys play between 5-10 minutes a night with no PP time and barely any PK time outside of Kruger. If they play in Rockford they get 15-20 minutes a night and both PP and PK time. You're also not developing prospects to be 4th line "shutdown" players as eventually Sharp, Hossa and whoever else will be gone. If you develop them to be one specific type of players, you've essentially made them worthless.

OK...You're starting to make me fell a little bit better about this team, but the 5/6 defensive pairing scares the **** out of me. I'd like to see Oduya and Hammer split up. Roszival completely blows and even though I don't know him too well, I don't trust Rundblad.

2014/2015 Roster

24 players, but per capgeek that puts them $600K over cap. Somebody will have to be injured or sent to the Hogs. Rosy, Mash and Oduya still on the injured list.

From what it sounded like, they seemed to be splitting Oduya and Hammer up and having VanReimsdyk with Hammer and Cumiskey or Runblad with Oduya. Rosival is injured I believe (please keep him LTIR the entire season!!!!)

I'm actually okay with that for our 3/4/5/6 D-pairings. I though VanReimsdyke looked plenty good and I don't think Cumiskey or Runblad would shoot us in the foot any more than Rosival would.

As for Leddy, He was behind the 8-ball here. He would never userp a position from Hammer, Keith, or Seabrook, and of those three, he only gelled with Seabrook. He was a train wreck with Hammer, and a medical waste dumpster fire with Keith. His D-ability was nowhere near any of our top-3 guys, and even if he did project out to be a future Norris winner with us, he would end up far more expensive than Keith. It sucks that we had to lose him over a guy like Rosival or Versteed (although Versteeg didn't look bad in the preseason--as aforementioned), but that's the way the cookie bounces. It sounds like we got a decent prospect in Pokka out of it and also ditched Simpson, who probably would have never made it.

I wish him the best of luck in Brooklyn, although like his new teammate Hickey can attest to; arenas built like the Brooklyn one (i.e. Key Arena) absotively posolutely fucking SUCK for hockey.
