Pelicans completely blew it. They had the W in the bag.

yup....up 20 heading into the 4th quarter. bad coaching job by monty in this one...GS was killing pelicans all 4th quarter on the offensive rebounds and he refused to put omer in the game the entire time

From ESPN:

MOST LOPSIDED FIRST ROUND EVER?

Three teams now hold a 3-0 lead in the first round of the NBA playoffs, and 4 more teams will have the chance to grab a 3-0 lead in the next two days. This could wind up being the most lopsided first round since 1983-84, when the NBA moved to a 16-team playoff format.

Basically, NBA fans were spoiled as **** last year.

Definitely a far cry from the 2009 epic first round matchup between the Bulls and Celtics :elephant:

Those series are far and few between.

This is probably one of the greatest series in NBA history, too bad nobody saw it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1957_NBA_Finals

Game 7 went to 2 OTs.

This comes in a close second, and was the conference finals..

(1) Boston Celtics vs. (3) Philadelphia 76ers: Celtics win series 4–3
John Hollinger of ESPN.com ranked this as the greatest playoff series in NBA history[1]

  • Game 1 @ Boston: Philadelphia 105, Boston 104
  • Game 2 @ Boston: Boston 118, Philadelphia 99
  • Game 3 @ Philadelphia: Philadelphia 110, Boston 100
  • Game 4 @ Philadelphia: Philadelphia 107, Boston 105
  • Game 5 @ Boston: Boston 111, Philadelphia 109
  • Game 6 @ Philadelphia: Boston 100, Philadelphia 98
  • Game 7 @ Boston: Boston 91, Philadelphia 90

I'll say this as well, a handful of these series we knew were not gonna be close (GSW/NOP, CLE/BOS, ATL/BKN, CHI/MIL). Portland and Toronto laid eggs in the playoffs (perhaps to no one's surprise) so there's another couple series and we're already at 6/8. Because Rondo caused Dallas to implode to go along with the Parsons injury, there's another series that got lopsided. There's your 7 out of 8. I don't think any of those are overly shocking.

Yeah..While the Bulls-Celtics series was
Game 1 Bulls 105, Celtics 103 (OT)
Game 2 Celtics 118, Bulls 115
Game 3 Celtics 107, Bulls 86
Game 4 Bulls 121, Celtics 118 (2OT)
Game 5 Celtics 106, Bulls 104 (OT)
Game 6 Bulls 128, Celtics 127 (3OT)
Game 7 Celtics 109, Bulls 99

Game 7 was anti-climatic. Game 3 sucked. If Game 7 had been anything like Games 4, 5, and 6... we may have been higher in the ranks.

Holy shit. Who doubts the Spurs now?

I only see three teams with even a glimmer of hope at beating them (GS, MEM, and [yes] still LAC).

For a 6th seed, they are sure pretty good.

Hollinger wasn't alive. But he ranked it #1. Seems like a totally legit opinion on a series that wasn't fully archived.

Hollinger ranked the 1981 Eastern Conference Finals as #1.. not the 57 Finals.

Nets beat Atlanta to make one series slightly interesting in the east.

looking forward to grizz/trailblazers game 3. get to find out if its going to turn into a series or not heading to Portland. Portland is one of the best home teams in the NBA, so if the grizz come in and take game 3 itd be very impressive IMO

so game 3 in Portland and afflalo back and Udrih out for the grizz....itll be a tough one for the grizz to win but so far up 11 - 7. kind of surprised Portland didn't jump out to an early lead

62 - 49 Grizz at the half....so far the fewest points grizz have scored in 1st half has been 50....so much for not being able to score enough

also Memphis again not turning the ball over...only 2 turnovers in the 1st half. imagine if the bulls could take care of the ball like that
