A true professional honors his commitments and communicates with his employers. The true amount of marketing/merchandising is minimal in the scheme of things that he organization makes already. I agree, a very small chance of being someone, but invaluable as a "coach." You ignore that which is your right.

A 29-year old man who hasn't played baseball in any capacity in 11 years is an "invaluable" coach to young baseball players?

Makes sense.

Not likely to happen at all.

What Tim does do is provide not only gate receipts but also provides a tremendous coaching mentor to the young players on how to be a true professional.

He's been a met for almost two days now and he's already the most known current Professional Player.
You mean when coaches want you to play a position other than the one you like, you go try another sport instead? Yeah. Real mentoring there. Now you know why the Cubs weren't interested in his showcase.

That had nothing to do with that, but strawman all you want on the Cubs interest.

As for Tim, he did what was best for him and the team and stepped away when QB wasn't happening. Assuming you have a job with a boss your boss says go clean toilets you can refuse. That does not affect negatively necessarily your ability to mentor.

So Kris Bryant would rather play 3B, but recognizes that Baez may be a better 3B. Baez plays wherever he can. Speaking of devout Christians, Zobrist plays wherever the coach puts him.

Exactly! If this guy's a coach, I am the Pope.

I was never Anti-Tebow. I have no problem with him professing his faith.

But I am Anti-hype, and with Tebow it never ended. I used to blame ESPN and say it wasn't his fault. (I won't forget ESPN's breaking news that Tebow was "one of the first players on the field" one morning at Jets camp.)

But at this point, this guy is just a fucking attention whore.

He is not pursuing a dream by pretending he can be an MLB player. There is no fucking way. He's hawking shit like Pete Rose.

Get a real job you wannabe.

He's as much a pro football player as I am, and now he's trying his lesser sport? Give me a break.

Tell me. Where on the field does anyone think this guy could possibly play defense? He's a pro like Hillary's a Supermodel.

But you know ESPN will cover his every move. And have Lebron and Tiger weigh in on it.

Tim Tebow: So professional that he refused to run Wildcat plays near the end of his tenure with the Jets. Because nothing says "good employee" and "putting the team first" quite like refusing to do what your boss asks you to do, especially when it's the only thing you're capable of doing passably on a football field.

Because he is amendable to it. Sometimes....*sigh*

I see you think a religious person or even a good employee has to be perfect. Good to know.

I think I see a man getting by on his reputation and media savvy rather than his achievements, and one who routinely expects special treatment that others of his talent level do not get.

I do not see that from him at all. I guess to each his own.

An exclusive MLB workout at age 29 is not special treatment? Getting days off from playing baseball in order to tape ESPN episodes is not special treatment? Can you name a single other minor league baseball player who is afforded such unusual privileges?

Tim Tebow has achieved something relevant to playing Major League Baseball? Please, do tell!

Can you name me another player that had that commitment prior?

True story - the Bears Kyle Long played baseball at FSU. It's a lot easier to cross back over to football than it is to cross over to baseball.

What? He achieved high acclaim in college football which makes him a celebrity. Did Michael Jordan achieve anything in baseball before he got his contract? He is an attraction just like Jordan. They get special treatment.

Im not sure why you are so angry about a guy getting his hustle on. He created a brand. He didnt do that not to make money.
