Curious because I have not watched any of his tape, what's your analysis?

He's a combo forward. Will be more of a secondary or tertiary ballhandler/playmaker in the NBA. He has a good basketball IQ, moves well off the ball, solid shooting mechanics, good defender. I'd say he's closer on the + end of athletes rather than average, but won't be taking too many people off guard with his footspeed in the NBA. He's an adequate ballhandler although not very skilled in terms of the number of moves he has to use, his moves are basically limited to a step back, and straight line drives to the lane. He's a streaky shooter at best, and a plain awful shooter at worst. His FT% numbers don't excite me at the possibility of his jumper improving. Good FT shooters aren't always solid shooters, but there's even less historical evidence for bad FT shooters becoming solid shooters. He actually has some straight line speed, laterally not so much.

I think he'll do well in the full court where he can run, playmake, maybe even catch some alley oops himself, but you make the money in the half court, and I think he has a ways to go with his skills there.

This dude went into some details of my issues. How Good is Deni Avdija?

Basically it comes down to do I think he will become a good enough shooter and ballhandler to open up the rest of his game and justify #4 overall, and it's a fat NO for me. At #7-15ish all day, where we can resolve to being happy to get a good role player, but at #4 overall, I can't with a straight face say this is the best option.

People are sleeping big time on Kira Lewis in terms of floor and ceiling especially when mentioning the likes of Ball, and Hayes. I can get the fact that they offer more positional versatility and won't be locked into playing or defending 1 position, but I mean damn is this looking a gift horse in the mouth. The numbers line up, his play lines up, but there's a divide in where I'm seeing him being drafted. He reminds me of Dee Fox, except his jumper is better. Can easily see this being another Donovan Mitchell situation.

Really hoping the bulls move up to #2 and draft Wiseman.

7’6 wingspan and can actually move his feet. He’s really agile and will be able to switch on pick and rolls without it being a liability. would be a force defensively on day 1. I know he didn’t play much for Memphis, but in the short time he did play, the opponents shot 33% when he was on the court. The bulls currently do not have any real rim protectors.

think about how much Bam was able to impact these playoffs with his size, athleticism, defense, and agility. Coby and Zach would have a much easier time being able to throw up lobs to wiseman.

Courtney Lee is still in the league? I remember him being all the rage among Bulls fans in 2010/2011.

He was the #MissingPiece.
I don't remember anyone but Gus saying that.

I still remember allot of hype around trading for him. I think Houston wanted Asik and there was debate around that - they would end up stealing him from us anyway with that stupid poison pill contract.

I have soft spots for certain guys. Typically these are journeyman veterans that play the 2 or 3, that are more thought of as the 6th man. Trevor Ariza comes to mind. As does a guy like Shane Battier.

Hard for me to remember many of the hype trains. I only remember the big ones like Carmelo, Rudy ***, and this one going back before this site, Pau Gasol.

Pretty much every middling SG that seemed like a possible get received some hype.

Other than BG, i was pretty high on Arron Afflalo.

That was really the only weak point of the Rose era, was SG. By the time Jimmy developed, Rose was a shell of his former self.

I always wondered how things would have gone if we could have signed Joe Johnson.

If i remember right Joe Johnson was like 99% a Bull, he was even practicing at the Berto center. Atlanta then goes insane and offers him $100 million and that was that. It's painful to see how many opportunities seemed in reach.

Like we tried to get Carmelo TWICE and then years later we get him unceremoniously as a salary dump.

Okay i over sold it on Joe Johnson being 99% but without Atlanta offering that deal i still put it as likely once it was clear we weren't getting any of the big 3.

I’m leaning towards Hayes with our pick. Assuming top 3 picks are the consensus from every mock draft I’ve seen
I'm a big fan of Killian Hayes. He's the guy I initially wanted but then I started doubting him being good because nobody talks about him going this high. When I watch his highlights, I think he's a really good PG with high upside. I actually prefer him over Ball.

Ha...that time of the "we just need a good 3 and D SG and we're winning the chip!"

Basically we needed Ronny Brewer and Kyle Korver to fuse into one player.

Ah, what could've been, but never was.

From my understanding if Atlanta hadn't offered a max, JoJo would be have been here.

I was in the same boat and was really intrigued by deni but I have a gut feeling that guy will be the darko of this draft. The more you dig into players of this draft we going to see players picked that would be considered reaches.
