Guys I’m calling it now-

The Hawks want the two Russian players.

If Yurov falls they will throw Dach right in there to get him.

I think Yurov goes top ten. Your not getting a top ten pick for Dach.

You aren’t concerned with any Russian players not being allowed to play in the USA? Or just getting their rights and by time they are ready the whole Russian turmoil stuff prob be over?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
No way in hell am I a draft expert by any stretch but eveything Im reading is saying this is a weak draft. Wouldn't it make more sense to trade for a 23 pick instead? Maybe find a team on the cusp that would rather move a future pick insteand of something now.

I don’t think either kid will be nhl ready for two, three years.

If Russia can’t get their shit together in that amount of time….

The thing with both of these kids is that both are high ceiling, low floor. Miro is a dynamic talent but already has cancer. Yurov could be the best talent in this draft, or he can be a power third liner who pots 20 on a deep team.

These next few hours should be interesting.

Hot take- if the Habs take Slaf, the Hawks trade Cat for the two

I dunno if he'd waive of if the Org wants a trade but I imagine Kane would also fetch a 1st with some $$$ retained.
Honestly, I didn't even consider Kane, not because you are wrong, but I just think he's done and accomplished everything why leave if he doesn't have to? His roots and marketing money is all here. Anywhere else he'd go he might have to split that with whatever superstar is already there, or young hotshot. He's still the king right now.
Murphy can fetch a first. A late one.
Ehhh... not sure. He's already 9 years in and has only played in the 50s game wise the last 4 years. I think if you get a 1st out of him you'd still have to be creative with other picks, players or lots of salary retention.

Hate seeing him go, but this is what this team needs right now. Wish they could have gotten more. You might be able to also use the 39th to move up into late 1st again too.
Yeah. I'm okay with it. The 7th overall is what makes it palatable. But it does sting, and that's coming from someone who was open to the idea of trading him.

But do the Hawks use the 7 on Yurov?

Hopefully one of the two defenseman fall

I said it in the other thread, but I want them to figure out a way to parlay the seconds into another 1st.

I am somewhat surprised that Ottawa didn't throw in a player/prospect in the deal. I'm still fine with it overall, but that would have been nice.

Why would you pick an offensive d-man when you bone thin on defensive D-men and you just traded your only real center prospect in Kirby Dach? And you have Seth Jones locked up for an eternity?

Well, I liked the Debrincat trade at first. Now I don't so much.

And I don't like the Dach trade.

I'm assuming it's because they think he won't be there at 13 and their defensive defensive man will be.

Let's see what they do with the next pic and the second round because that's really going to determine what those two trades ended up being because I see them almost as intertwined at this point

You can’t look at it as we traded our center so we should draft one. This draft is about 2-5 years from now. 2 years is being generous more likely 4 years from now these guys will see the ice in the pros. It’s going to be a three year process of stacking talent

I guess but still, now you definitely need a center. Geekie was TSN's 13th projected, if he's there and they pick him, I'd be good.

Never mind, he literally was just picked. So ****. What the **** are they doing?

For some reason I feel like there's some weird chance here that maybe they'll trade the 13 now to move back and pick up some more second or third rounders

Okay but I just think offensive d-man is the least of your problems right now.
