Keyonte George having basically a career night against the Bulls while he's shooting 32% from the field against everyone else is the most Bulls thing ever. But, one step closer to keeping that pick

Bulls stats through 9 games. Not much surprising here except that Vucevic has continued to shoot extremely well.

Ayo's shooting has been fairly disastrous, time will tell if that course corrects over the season. He's had a couple extremely bad shooting nights which are definitely tanking his numbers.

Josh Giddey's shooting is bolstered by 3 games which he shot a combined 8/10 from 3, but his 2pt% is terrible which my eye test has confirmed in the form of many missed layups/floaters. Also a little concerning that he was 80% from FT last year but under 70% so far. Perhaps that will course correct.

Similarly, PWill has shot decently from 3, but can't make anything from 2pt range. He's been objectively worse than previous seasons and hasn't seemed to benefit at all from the new style of play. He actually looks very slow to me.

Coby has been hot and cold, but his numbers are leveling out to align with last year's, which gives some hope for Ayo I suppose.

the best thing for the bulls is ZL hasnt played the last 3 games and they are 0-3 in those games. What is he out with this time?!

agreed on PWill and giving him that new contract. Why? What does tying that kind of $$ up into him accomplish?

that said, im not as down about the current roster as most are.

i think the bulls have good young pieces in Giddy, White, Ayo, and even LaVine(and what he one day brings back in a trade). Even Julian Phillips has some promise, not to be anything amazing...but, he seems like he could turn into a solid rotational piece

like 90% of the teams in the NBA, they need that alpha #1 guy to allow the others to fall into the roles they should be in.

but hey, like clone mentioned...Bulls are #1 in pace so far this year. so, they should at least be entertaining at times this season
Dear Lord, that is a truly sad and pathetic core. And only the Bulls FO is stupid enough to have paid PWill like he's anything but a backup.

Also, as we know, ZL is your guy, but I believe his contract pays him $43 million this year, and $46 and $49 million the ensuing two seasons. You are aware that has massive negative value, right? And the Bulls would have to eat contract for someone to take him off their hands?

Anyway, F this FO and this team, I will only watch highlights this year and no full games, it's just too boring and depressing to watch knowing there is no hope, no plan and no future for this roster.

agreed on everything said here. I still think ZL is a good player, but he has more value on a different roster than he does on this dumpster fire.

they had him play some games to show he can still play at a high level and then now he has an "injury" cuz they were winning too much to start the season. they should find a trade somewhere, but the contract certainly makes moving him tough

Stats through 11 games, not much has changed. Bulls continue to be bad defensively and turn the ball over a lot, but they continue to lead the league in pace and remain committed to shooting as many 3s as they can. Live or die by the 3, but at 37% accuracy, they have been able to at least hang around in a lot of games to make it mildly entertaining to watch (if you can stomach the turnovers and you don't hate volume 3s).

Overall, I'd say the Bulls are doing a good job of building the trade value of Zach and Vuc while losing enough games to start dropping in the standings so they can keep their pick. Vuc is playing well enough that you might be able to convince a team like Golden State that they should trade for him midseason.

Giddey's stats look solid, but he doesn't wow me nearly as much when I actually watch him. He's increased in 2pt% up from 41% from last time but still is shooting far too poorly from 2 for my liking, especially as I still don't think his 3pt shooting will be sustainable. He could well prove me wrong though, which would be a great thing for him in a contract year. His current 43% 3pt% is up from the 40.6% he was at 6 games in.

For what it's worth as well, last night's loss to the Cavs moved the Bulls into the bottom 10 of the league, so they are now in "keep their pick" territory, though not quite enough for "Capture the Flagg" territory.

bulls need to make up another ZL injury or just have PWill intentionally hurt ZL to earn his millions, if the bulls are going to tank enough to be in the lottery

Or Zach will play well enough for a team to be willing to trade for him midseason

Amusingly, there's only 3 Eastern Conference teams above .500 right now. Makes for a very hilarious standings

better hope so!

and the fact theres so many losing records currently only reinforces the need to get rid of ZL sooner than later if tanking is the goal

I mean, if the Bulls are the 6th seed at the end of the year with an under .500 record and Zach is balling out of his mind and Vuc is still shooting 45% from 3, what can you do?

Still many things to level out in the East. Milwaukee has had a dismal start, Philly is playing a GLeague rotation and the Nets, who are also supposed to be tanking, are tied with the Bulls currently. But only 2 games separate the 3rd seed from 11th, so how much stock do we even want to put on these records right now? Several teams are just a win/loss streak away from one direction or the other.

every game counts the same 1/82...every win now will matter when we look at the standings in a few months and wonder how the bulls came a game or two away from being in the lottery

but hey, im not really all that concerned with getting into the lottery like everyone else is

Bulls being 1 game out of 10th place would be a fitting end to the season, one that I would expect really.

Nothing really matters until the Bulls get a real super on the team though. Keeping their pick this year just gives them a chance to get one quicker.

I'll tell you what, if/when the Bulls truly start committing to the tank, they'll just play Giddey 40 minutes a night because holy moly this dude's plus minus is always terrible. Apparently Ayo as well, go figure

They need to stop parading Summu, as if he's the 2nd units first option.

*wait, checks depth chart. Well ****, he is. Carry on.
