Never heard of this THT guy before but anytime I happen to catch a quarter or two, he’s always popping off the screen.

Just looked at his numbers

PER: 21.5
TS% 68%
WS/48: .181

Just monster numbers…except for this one:

MPG: 11

They might wanna play this dude more. I know they have a hundred guards, but he deserves more PT for sure.

He's not as good as those numbers for his career, but he's been on a bit of a heater lately. He is a bucket getter, but usually is not good from 3 (career just 30%). He's been a rotation player for pretty much his whole career though. I imagine if the Bulls actually did make trades, he'd probably get closer to 20 minutes a night, and probably would also look worse.

Very possible…but he’s also only 24 (despite looking 34) so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he’s improved from his earlier days. Not everyone is like Patrick Williams that stays exactly the same or gets worse somehow.

The stats through 23 games

The Bulls have somehow now established themselves as a top shooting team through the first part of this season, entirely reversing the narrative from the last 3 years.

Vuc continues to play out of his mind. Nearly 60% FG% and 47% 3pt% is insanity from a guy who couldn't hit water from the middle of the ocean last year.

Zach's numbers continue to look good. The TOs have come down from their earlier high numbers to something more in line with what you'd expect for a player of his usage. The PPG won't wow you, but the Bulls as a whole have been scoring well and do it more by committee. Perhaps this will add to the narrative that Zach actually is a team player, or at least a very professional one, deep down.

Ayo's 3pt shooting continues to be erratic, but it is on the rise. Meanwhile Giddey's shooting splits are about what I would've expected from him, though his FT% is way down from his last year in OKC. Bulls as a whole just suck at drawing fouls though, so every miss has a fairly large impact on the percentage. Also on the rise are the shooting percentages of Phillips, Buzelis, and Terry.

THT's numbers are just hilarious to me...dude gets buckets. He's also taken over highest +/- from Lonzo.

Vuc may be shooting the hell out of the ball, but man that +- sure does suck still!

It's not out of the realm of possibility. I mean we're witnessing Vuc go from shooting less than 30% from 3 to 47%. Who's to say THT can't take that 30% and turn it into 51%? I would just be very surprised if he improved that much. He's been great in his role though, he gets buckets

Oh I wouldn’t expect THT to continue shooting 51% from 3, I guess my point is while his numbers may dip some, it would not surprise me if he maintained averages well above his career averages and continued to play really well with more minutes.

THT even shooting 39 or 40% from 3 would still be surprising to me given his track record, but if he does pull it off, I won't complain lol. Like I said, it's not out the question that he has found a way to improve in this offseason and maybe fixed some aspect of his jumper that will allow him to be in that 40% from 3 range consistently. If so, more power to him, the Bulls will have found themselves a gem of a signing from those exhibit 10 deals.

Bulls vs Hornets...
Whos watching this? Pretty good game so far, lot of players getting hot on defense and offense. Hornets are begging for mercy.

When are the Bulls gonna give it up and admit they gagged on a top 5 pick. Williams wasn't just bad, he was noticeably bad. With almost the whole team being a plus in a blowout win.....pick #4 was a -15. He literally let the Hornets close the gap every time he was in the game

He’s painful to watch play. Terrible pick by AKME, really no way around it. Apparently they’re open to trading him but can’t imagine anyone would want him. Would be surprised if they could even get a 2025 2nd for him.

No one wants any Bulls players for more than scraps because AK has negative leverage

To a point, but I think they could get a solid package for Vuc. He’s been playing great and there seems to be quite a number of teams interested. That’ll drive up the price and give AK more leverage.

I think he pretty much has to trade Vuc and Lonzo this season. If he doesn’t, that’ll be a big fail.

Zach is basically impossible to move so not expecting that to happen.

True, the tinfoil hat theory is that the Bulls have a trade partner lined up for Vuc so they sat him last night and will trade him tomorrow. Optimistic, but technically possible. Vuc is definitely the easier contract to move so it is possible we could see him moved by the deadline. Lonzo I think is a longshot just on the other team's rolling the dice on the health thing this season, I think more likely it would be S&T in the offseason for him

It's as if every bit of progress PWill and Ayo made last year, was erased this year.

Lonzo exceeding his minutes restriction in this one, also pretty directly responsible for the Bulls not completing the choke for the L. Maybe there is a chance he could get moved before the deadline after all.

Here's the stats as we go into the brief NBA Cup break. Bulls are #2 in 3s made and attempted and 9th in 3pt%. One can only imagine if they were able to play like this for the last 2 years instead of doing what they did.

I keep expecting Vuc's shooting numbers to drop a little, but yet they do not

There's some news coming out that Denver might be interesting in taking Zach and his albatross of a contract off the Bulls' books. You're probably not going to get any picks for him, but you can hopefully get some expiring contracts/moveable pieces in the offseason.

Probably MPJ and a filler (some people say Zeke Nnaji, others Julian Strawther) is the most likely outcome if this were to be true and actually happen. It's the only realistic salary match scenario

why do the nuggets wanna move MPJ, though?
