Well, that's just a guess. They reported that the planet is 10-20 times farther out than Pluto, is a gas planet and is about the size of Neptune. Like many, that's a head scratcher to say they detect it's gravitational pull.

You own ignorance is cannot be used as evidence.

ie just because you do not understand how something works, is not evidence that it is not real.

It's kind of humbling to think of how massive the universe is and how much we think we know about shit only to potentially find a planet 10 times the size of earth in our own backyard in 2016. God (figure of speech), we are so insignificant and clueless in the grand scheme of things.

Yep, and it all just magically appeared out of nothing too! For no fucking reason.

Here's the blasphemous account on Science Daily (if you don't have that site bookmarked I no longer wish to interact with you [cretin]): http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/01/160120114539.htm

These are probably genius' and they can't think of a better nickname than planet nine?

Also, total crap. The earth is flat and they use paintings of earth and other plants from space to make the populous believe their lies.

"Here's what it probably looks like in an artist rendering"

Is that how you talk to your middle schoolers?

If it isn't then it probably should be. There is nothing offensive about that statement at all and it conveys a salient point that if followed would probably result in less ignorance and stupidity in the world.

Everything???
Did you even read what Marty responded too?
Or did you just make a quick judgment post?

I did as he quoted it in his response.

You own ignorance is cannot be used as evidence.

ie just because you do not understand how something works, is not evidence that it is not real.

This is a fair statement. What would be wrong about saying that to a middle schooler?

Yeah so I am confused regarding the issue with that statement. Brett was suggesting it's a head scratcher that they could detect something by its gravitational pull which seems pretty ignorant of how objects are often found in space. We detect black holes by the effect of their gravitational pull because as the name implies they are black and hence don't emit any light.

On a side note. Gravity is a constant... I know all mass creates it and we see what it does, etc

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but do we know how/why mass creates gravity?

Would be a heck of a thing to control.
