Point taken. Sorry the CCS has turned you into a royal dick.

No seriously. I used to have a little bit of fun up here. Now everyone pisses me off.

But how exactly have I been a dick to anyone? Unless you call saying the earth is flat and science is a religion is being a dick

Probably from another universe. As the below suggests there is evidence that the Big Bang that created this universe wasn't the first Big Bang and that there were several big bangs before this.

http://m.phys.org/news/2010-11-scientists-glimpse-universe-big.html

As for where the makers came from, the reality is no matter what you believe (God or Big Bang), the fact is there has always been something that sprang from nothing for lack of a better term.

i could buy a multiverse and that there is/was (still) a possibility of several bangs..

infinite variables and none to make one mad...

I was walking around my neighborhood once with my head phones in. I was about to make the turn back onto our road and one of my idiot neighbors comes flying by I their van over my inside shoulder. I had already made the step toward the turn. The van just barely missed me.

It got me thinking about what if there is another universe in which I did get clipped. What if in another universe I'm dead and my wife and daughter had to bury me. It really blew my mind for a while. Then my brain got into what if there is a universe where my dad got to a doctor on time and he was still alive.

You guys wonder why I'm so prone to melt downs. I just get up here some times to get some crazy stuff out of my head.

Maybe heaven isn't some magical place created by space God but simply a universe in the mass infinity of the multiverse where everything breaks right for the you and the people you love.

Yep and in that same universe, I'm married to my sane bisexual girlfriend who brings hot chics home every week instead of having to get a restraining order against the chic in this universe because she is fucking crazy.

Damn you other me, why do you have it all?

How bout this to think about. There is a debate among religious on free will and pre-destination. Cause how could an all knowing God exist if there is free will. Amirite? If God knows everything that is going to happen and everything you're going to do, how could there be free will. Cause if every decision you make, God already knew you were going to make it so every thing that happens was going to happen that way no matter what.

What if God does know every thing and we have free will. Like every decision you are face with has an number of outcomes depending on what you choose. Like if I turned earlier toward my house I'd been squished by the van. If I didn't have my headphones in, I would have heard them coming. That sort of thing. God doesn't know what you will choose necessarily. He does know every choice and every outcome of that choice and he has a plan for every outcome.

Is their a pill to help a person stop thinking and just be peaceful? My wife complains when I play video game and stuff but it's one of the only things that get my mind to stop thinking about this crap.

The simply act of knowing what someone will do doesn't mean said person doesn't have free will. I know how some people will respond based on my experiences with them. I can even push buttons with them that I know will result in certain outcomes. Yet it was still their decision.

So it is not a necessary requirement of an all knowing God that we lack free will because we simply don't know the nature of this all knowing ability. Let's say for example that our concept of time is flawed in that we believe it to be a linear progression. But suppose that for Space God time just is ie past, present, future have no meaning because this Space God experiences it all in a single moment. Well if that is the case, it's not that you lack free will, it's that you already made the decision with the free will you have and all that is left is for that decision you made to play out in the linear progression of time that our minds perceive.

Great question. Just because God knows what you are going to choose does not me you do not have free will. The issue with this thought process is that God is bound by time and He is not. He's the Lord over even time and exists despite time existence. We still make our choices but since God is always present He is already there when we make a choice. He's also in full knowledge of the choice we are going to make. Free will is still in tact. Ex. You say the bears are going to run a draw on their 20 yard line on a 3rd and 17. They run the play. Your knowledge had nothing to do with the play itself. They still could have run a different play. The thing is, God is never wrong. And he doesn't really make predictions that could be wrong, He only speaks in truths.

This is a bad example. I don't *know* they're going to run a draw, I suspect, or guess.

God is omniscient, so there's just a wee bit of difference there.

Flawed a bit but it gets the point across. Let's say I know a draw is going to be run because I am a precog or I traveled back from the future where this event already played out. My knowledge of this fact doesn't change that the Bears still made the choice. Foreknowledge doesn't imply the removal of choice from the person making the decision.

What complicates this in the context of God is that he is also our creator so did he make us in such a manner that our choices were inevitable because they are programmed into us. That's a possibility but again not an inevitability since we have plenty of examples of creators not necessarily being in control of their creations.

In any event, we can only act based on our finite perspective where we perceive things in a linear progression and thus we have free will because we lack any other perspective that proves we don't. It is fun to speculate and ponder such things but in the end the reality is when all is said and done, you are the master of your decisions because you have no definitive proof of a puppet master silently pulling the strings
