I'd rather have Kane playing for me than against me any day

Just wanted to mention this. Didn't kane lead the league in assists at one point? If not I know he was pretty close, but yeah horrible season for kaner.

If scooter even listened to a deal involving Kane he oughta be summarily fired

Only one person scored a Stanley cup winning goal on this team. Only a few made he'll on earth for opposition goalies the last few seasons and in playoffs. And only a few players in the game today would accept being taken off the position they are strongest at to play elsewhere...and not ***** about it. Kane committed. Until the day he speaks out in negative tone towards this franchise or his teammates he's a blackhawk.

THIS.

and THIS... and yes, at one point this season he was leading the league in assists & Toews was leading in goals.

He created a lot of chances tonight and the Kane-Toews-Stalberg line was clicking. It easily could have been a multi-point game for Kane. Niemi absolutely robbed him blind on that one chance... holy crap what a save.

Toews, Kane , and Stalberg are starting to look like the toughest line in the league to defend against. There not even looking, just know someone will be where they put the puck, and using each other's strengths just right.

Im sure that will not stop Q from messing with it in the near future.

Stalberg and that sentence just doesn't fit... yet, Stalberg's speed is really starting to prove a difference-maker on many occasions, like the Toews goal of the Sharks game. That speed alone got Niemi out of his crease.

It looks like Stålberg is finally starting find his stride and there is chemistry developing between him and Toews. I think it's all about confidence with Stålberg and he's already done a personal best and it's only half the season. If he keeps on producing 20 goals and 50 pts is not out of the question. Kane is a little lost at the moment but he showed hustle in this last game and with his tremendous skill there is no doubt he'll come out of his funk sooner rather than later. It's also nice to see Bolland show some improvement, hopefully he will take the more offensive role to heart and run with it. Krüger has the chops to become that shutdown centerman, if not this year, but next. He's got all the fundamentals and just needs to work on his frame and strength and he'll be a good one.

I said this early in the year:

I think Stalberg could be a 25 goal, 35 assists type of guy at some point. Maybe not this year, but I think we can expect at least 15-20 goals out of him this year and 25-30 assists.

I stand by that, but perhaps he can be that 25/35 guy now rather than later. I don't think 25G 30A for Stalberg is a stretch for him, maybe even getting a crack at 30 goals depending on who he plays with the rest of the year (knowing Q he'll be back on the 4th line in no time)

Also, more slobbing on Stalbergs knob: top 5 in takeaways, top 5 in hits on the team... averaging less ice-time than Frolik, Kruger, Shaw, Bolland.... roughly the same ice-time as Brunette, Hayes, Bickell.

The Hawks are robbing him in more ways than one.

My favorite teams
 1. Chicago White Sox
 1. Chicago Fire
 1. Chicago Bears
 1. Chicago Blackhawks
The thread title is silly and misleading.

There is no trade rumor.

The musings of a Blackhawks fan do not a rumor make.

And a trade with Buffalo for Miller is too silly of an idea to even discuss.

Kane is fine. He isn't setting it on fire right now, but thats just it. Right now. He isn't terrible. He's in the right places, he is getting his chances. He is fine. I think he has been better defensively, which I will take if there is not puck hitting the net for him. Granted, he isn't a power forward, he isn't gonne put someone in the 3rd row, but still.....

Miller is an ok goalie. So is Crow and Emery. you would be making a lateral move Crow for Miller imo.

Phew man. Why, why, why would you want to tie that much kind of money up on a position which will limit (and most likely hurt you pending on who you trade for that goalie, especially if it's someone like Kane for ****'s sake) you in how good of a team you put in front of him, which greatly affects how well he plays? What is the appeal in that? I don't see any whatsoever, not even it being a lateral move, I see nothing but downside. In this NHL it really makes little sense to pay big money to your goalie. You're shooting yourself in the foot. You don't need an amazing or a great goalie to win it all.

Forget about trading Kane. Fucking hell man ...

Who was the last really high paid goalie to win a cup? "high paid" being subjective to the time of course. Was it Marty? And I don't even think he was making extreme high dollars last time he won it (I could be 100% wrong and probably am).

I don't think Fluery was making much when the Pens won

Wings never had a high paid goalie did they?

Maybe Giguire?

Khabi when he played in Tampa?

Someone help me out.

This is also coming from the same guy who said Shaw was going to be an AHLer.... SUP BRAH?

The Hawks have given up the 9th most goals against in the league.

I've watched enough games to know that Crawford is not our major concern. If our defense wasn't full of a bunch of wuss-bags guys wouldn't be able to get such great looks. They have no gap control, not physicality and terrible positioning. NO goalie in the league can take as many high quality shots against and put up all star numbers. Tell Q to stop playing O'Donnell and bring up someone who can move and hit guys, not hope they run into him. Montador should be your 6th/7th defenseman, not your 4th/5th on some nights.

Our forwards are fine except for maybe Bruno (his lack of speed is an issue) and whomever is in a cold streak that needs a kick in the ass.

Our PP is terrible. If I know what the Hawks are trying to do before the PP then EVERY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE knows what they are going to do. Our PK blows as of late as well.

Our passing is garbage, and I don't think the Hawks understand the idea of "puck possession" outside of "do a hard wrap (slap shot) from behind our net and hope it hits the winger who is sitting at the redline (center ice). Sure that can work maybe once in a while, but we do it every fucking game, and it usually ends up on the other teams stick. The Wings will demolish us all season and in the playoffs because they are a heavy puck possession team. We can't make 3-4 passes up the ice before turning it over.

So there are some of or issues, and RYAN MILLER does not answer any of those.

I think Montador fits into the #5 spot well (hes better than a 6/7 guy). His number alone holds the answer. Something isn't right with the Hammer/Leddy pairing in my opinion. Not sure what it is. Maybe Leddy showing his youth and Hammer showing his restrictions. I still think Leddy needs a mentor on that pairing. I like Hammer a lot and I wouldn't want anyone else blocking shots on our blueline the way Hammer does. But something doesn't sit right with me and that pairing. Leddy certainly isn't physical enough yet and is still lacking some bulk. I don't expect him to ever be a hard hitter he's def the transition blueliner on that pairing and rightfully so, but his work down low needs work and that is part strength which he doesn't have yet.. I don't want to see either guy go of course. Hammer could be dropped to the 5/6 spot if we could find a partner for Leddy who could help out in some areas such as physicality infront of the net.

Just talking out my ass here.

Bruno is fine at the 4th line spot and the occassional 3rd line. After that there are issues. He still could be a key player come playoffs we just don't know.

PP is an issue every regular season it seems. I can't explain that one. It seems to start clicking come the playoffs though. Just one of those unexplainable things with this club. Maybe the guys start playing a bit harder around the net in the playoffs? Probably could attest for some of it.

PK is also a funny one with the Hawks. It's up and down all season. I really don't have too much of a concern with the PK as I do with the PP. Maybe that is where Crawford is weakest? On the PK?

Here is a player to start a conversation about, Luke Shenn. Keep that in mind since Leafs and the Hawks have had previous swaps. If it happens you heard it here.
