lol if you really think we are that close to contending i dont even know what to say.

3/5 or are starting rotation is a joke and seriously im being nice with that. the defense is fucking laughable, ive seen better defense in little league teams. this offense is also a fucking laugh. these guys cant for the life of them hit the ball with runners in scoring position.

this team sucks. and whatever you think is wrong cause this team needs to be blown up. keep castro, marshall, maybe garza. but the rest of these fucking bums can pack their bags.

but but but in 2007 and 2008............... haha

well said dero. well said!

Even moving Kosuke didn't do that much good. It gets rid of our best defensive outfielder, an okay lead off hitter, doesn't do shit as far as dropping salary, considering we're still covering 75% of it, and we got two awful prospects for him.

I mean a guy who hits .280 with a .290 OBP will fit right in with the Cubs, but how does that help.

And the pitcher blows, too.

Hendry needs to go before this club can do anything. It's that simple. I'll decide Quade's fate later, although right now he looks more like a AAA manager, managing a AAA team.

Pretty much EYT.

98% of the MLB organization needs to go.

It's just ridiculous that it's gotten this bad.

We are inconsistent... we can never build a long-term winner. BUT it seems that we have finally added some consistency, becoming a long-term loser.

But we dropped 14 wins, then 8 wins, and now who knows how many? :turrible: Sad part is that we were over .500 and first place for half a day after like 40 games or something... and now we are THIS bad... SMH.

That was a fun season but that playoff series was :turrible:

i would take that 2008 season + playoff year over this crap any year though. The idea is to get in and anything can happen

yeah i agree. 2008 i the season where i went of the deep end though. i was so emotionally attached to that team when they blew it like that in the playoffs i didnt know what to do. since then i have learned not to get emotionally attached to any cubs team. its just not a good idea.

if hendry is still GM i will no longer be a cubs fan. its that simple for me. Ill stop being a cubs fan i team that i fucking love to death. ill quit. why, because if that shit happens it will then be completely clear that tom fucking ricketts doesn't give a shit about winning. just the profit margin. pretty sure thats already the case though. **** i hate everything about this team right now.

I see what you're saying but don't be so rash. If gillick takes over, they may keep jh around to help him get used to the organization. If they don't do anything, then yeah, **** em

lol i dont want that fat man anywhere near this team anymore. if gillick takes over he should be competent enough to know what the **** is going on and that keeping donut man around would be a bad idea. if gillick thinks he needs to keep hendry around so he can learn the system from him, he shouldnt even except the job.

im mad

I would say that 3/5 of the rotation is actually solid. Z, demo, and garza have all done a solid job. Their numbers would look better if they had a solid defense behind them... & in front of them. Soto & Hill both have like 7 errors.

I just think that you're underestimating how big of an impact fielder would have on this team. A 6 win player in the middle of the lineup really changes how this team is composed. Plus, getting Jackson will drastically improve the OF defense by allowing Byrd to move to RF. I really think that in the offseason, fielder, Wilson, kubel would be ideal & then I can really see us fucking shit up in the central.

fielder would be a big acquisition but cmon he's not going to make the cubs a 90 win team....

we still are young and we have some overpayed veterans that need to be released..our bullpen is still shaky(hopefully wood stays around as a mentor figure imo)...our pitching is not bad(overall garza,z,demp..thats a solid 3 right there although it lacks a true #1 guy but not bad...although the back of our rotation is not defined and we have been hampered with injuries)

I did not nor have I ever said that fielder alone makes us a contender. Like I said, fielder, Wilson, kubel & we're contenders. Even if they don't do that, they need fielder. It'll help out so much in the long run for the team if they get prince. This is the only time he'll be a FA worth getting, so we need to snag him.

Woah, what?

Byrd to RF so Jackson in CF. Fielder at 1B. Wilson at SP. Where the hell does Kubel get into this?

Or did you mean to trade Byrd? But you brought up him switching positions, so I'm a little lost.

Keep Byrd. Guy bats over .300 and is a solid outfielder. Always plays hard. Why do we need Kubel?

The back-end of the rotation was marred by injuries until now, and Cashner is all but done for the year.

Signing Fielder would be OK, he's better than Pena, but he and Wilson won't win the Cubs 20 games alone.

Why pay Kubel? I'd rather pay Byrd.

ya..i like byrd too...he's a great all around player that can be a big part of this team..he shouldnt be the face of our franchise or anything because he isnt that type of player..but solid all around and an asset i want to keep

he shouldnt be un-tradable tho...if a good deal is out there for him, hendry(or whoever the hell is gm when such trade comes up) should not shut the door on it

Byrd is AVG at everything. Batting AVG, Power AVG, Speed AVG, DEF AVG. He a nice role player but nothing to build around. If i was Hendry i would have taken best offer for an AVG player
