I was saying, that's the only offer I would offer to Dunn.
That's........nevermind.

That could be one if I think about it. But, the Cubs could find a 1B in the minors that plays OF or something, so don't waste money, he K's a lot, plays no defense and hits for a low average (Def at Wriggley he will but hr will go up). Also, he will command a good amount in FA.
Well, other than Hoffpauir, I'm not sure who else there is that could play 1st, although I'm not extremely familiar with all of our prospects. I don't know, it would be extremely nice to have another big left-handed bat in the line up and I think the K's and less than spectacular defense might be worth it.
The Cubs really don't have any 1B down there byt they have tons of OF and IF that maybe can move to 1B. But, that's speculation from me.
If I'm Hendry..
I give Dunn a decent two year deal.
7 mill base salary per year.
High level incentives that could push it to 14 per year.
More likely that it ends up being around 8 or 9 with some incentives actually getting kicked in.

I think this is the only realistic possibility. I'm not sure that Dunn would go for 7 million a year base salary, even with incentives that could make it 14 million a year. The other thing too, is I think there would need to be a clause for a possible two year extension, with a pay increase.
If I'm Dunn...
I laugh at you and take the 15+ million I can get elsewhere.
team option.. then id be okay with it..
Im trying to work within tight parameters here.. Not just throwing cash down the crapper.

But Dunn is in a position of leverage here, not us.
I don't see anyone grossly overpaying for his services.
I moderate offer may be all it takes.

If Dunn wants to put up #'s he will come to Chicago. If he wants the money, he will go elsewhere. That's how I see it.
Except he is the only premier 1B on the market this year. 1B is a prime position
Not really..
He's gonna put up numbers where ever he goes.
