And not liked by the rest of the NHL Officials because of the way he "came back" into the fold. The officiating is a fucking joke, from top to bottom. It always has been and always will be. There is no integrity. There is and has always been bias through out the entire league. Not just where the Hawks are concerned.

Last night was reminiscant of the way the Hawks were treated during most of the 1980's (after 1983 when Tom Lysiak tripped Ron Foyt on purpose during a faceoff and got 40 games) and 1990's. I have a good friend who wears stripes in the league and i sent him a text last night asking "Are you guys for real?"

I think the standard was set last year by the Bruins who won the Cup playing down right nasty. The refs swallowed their whistles or the B's would have been penalized on every shift. The teams in this years playoffs are bordering thuggery and this is just the opening round. Shanahan has to lay down big suspensions , maybe a whole season before the players wake up.

BTW how the **** did 4 officials and every Yote interviewed not see the play?

The official #97 was ten feet away and looking right at it.

Also I understand Bettman was at the game and was not happy.

The Blackhawks are one of the flagship organizations in the league, a shit team with no fanbase like Phoenix should not be given the advantage of biased officiating .

Camera showed him smirking and grinning in the stands shortly after the hit. Not saying it is a sign of bad intentions or for some league conspiracy, but it does paint him as a horses ass.

I wish I had something intelligent to say about any of this, but I don't, I'm just fucking frustrated with the bullshit way the NHL is run. ****, shit, ****! That was somewhat intelligent.

****. SHIT!

Thank you for listening.

It would be easier to impose cap penalties. Every so many team games with a player suspened for an illegal hit/cheap shot drop a chunk of money from the team's cap space.

As for the game it was nauseating to watch. Display of everything that is wrong with officiating and the NHL. I'd bet dollars to donuts Toews and Q will be fined for their comments criticizing the league and it's officials.

Don't expect Shanaban to handle the situation appropriately either. He lost the opportunity to make a statement when he failed to punish Weber.

I thought of that but it doesn't punish teams that aren't near the cap. Look at the panthers (I think, too lazy to look it up) they aren't near the cap, you think they give a shit if you took 5 mill off their cap?

Screw that hit the owners in the wallet hard. I threw out 5 mil as a number, Make 10 mill and make it double every suspension. So two suspensions 20 mil, 3 mil 40 mil, 4 80 mil, etc. Make it fucking Special person so when the first suspension hits the owner and the GM are fucking screaming at the coach to never let it happen again and they are already packing the offenders bags.

If the NHL wants to be serious about cleaning it up, Go to the absurdity levels of punishment

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
horseshit. thats what it was.

**** i'm still trying to figure out why toews started the third in the box.

What I got from the feed I watched on was that Toews was called for an unsportsmanlike for the late shot on goal.
<

Now, with that being said, I'm glad Hossa is okay. However, I'm still wondering who Shanny will suspend longer: Hossa for "unnecessary Delay of game (Hey, he was walking at the hospital)", or Q for "Abuse of the Officials" at the post-game presser.

Now, if there's one thing that the boys need to take away from this game, it's that the officials *really* will not give them any breaks. Now they can give up and consider it is over, but was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? I think not. If there is anything that the team should do, it's rally behind the fact that they got screwed by the league from the Smith dive, and they got screwed by the league by the Torres hit. The best thing they gan do for themselves is come back and win the series, eliminate the Coyotes, and send them to Quebec City or Hartford.

Oh, and my opinion on the hit? If Torres was Bertuzzi'ed, Marlachuck'ed, Zedkinked, Hextall'ed, and had the McSorely Manoeuver liberally applied to him, it wouldn't be enough. He has officially surpassed both Avery and Cooke as the grand poobah of the ****** Crew. If I let my emotions get the best of me, the person that end his career should have his number hanging in the rafters.

What a fucking shit bag.

I got last second tickets to the game from work last night and was sitting in the 200 level and the hit happened literally right in front of me.

I've never been so disgusted by a hit in my entire life... seeing Hossa carted off was scary. How the **** come did the refs pull Bollig off of Torres AND the Hawks were shorthanded??????

I saw the replay of the bench interview and Q was HOT. Also saw post game comments and he was still pissed. I can't believe how bush league the NHL is nowadays.

But oh well... fighting iis down! Guess gutless cheapshots are better!

Astonishing.

I almost wouldn't feel as horrifically violent from it if it wasn't Torres. For some reason coming from him, a repeat offender, the type of person that the league is supposed to be cracking down on and fixing, yet nothing has changed. I just mean that if it was a different player, you could see some doubt, but from Torres we all know it's happened before and will happen again.

I am at work, and can not even focus, I am so mentally and physically drained from yesterday. I bet Torres doesn't even leave his hotel room until the hearing. I really don't know what is going to happen in this series. Now we have another Vancouver in our hands to deal with. We are playing a team with a bunch of players that would be fourth liners on any good team, a fan base that does not even know they have hockey, and Bettman is dying from them going to Quebec.....not good, fitting he was at the game though huh.

About the game, I thought Sharp sucked again. What was he thinking on Whitney's goal??? He was just floating...watching the play in the far corner rather than the slot??? Very disappointed in his play this entire series.

Time to raise your game Shapieboy...just like your 6mil salary next year will call for.

With Hoss probably out...Toews still not back to game speed...Kane's been great- Sharp, not so much.

Amen, dude!

100% predictable outcome from the "instigator" penalty enforced as a reward for cheapshots.

Then you ask an official to determine how hard something was and you get diving...

it's all a shame to do this to the greatest game on earth.

It does give the NHL more latitude to impose their will on how they want a series to come out!

Here is what drives me nuts. The refs have the power to grab shaw take him to the box for either a major or a minor... wait wait wait... ohh the goalie is still down so we can change whatever we were going to call and make it a game misconduct and throw him out. But they can't correct an obvious penalty that the guy was standing right in front of? How can they change a penalty based on 'injury' of smith, but yet not be able to call an obvious penalty based on the destruction of Hossa's head? More inconsistency.

Another thing Bettman was inteviewed and was asked about the ratings and the hits....I don't remember the exact words, but said, the ratings were very high, and said something like, well its like the old days of hockey and hits will be there. WOW!

Again all this crap thats going on just feeds the thoughts of conspiracy, this would not happen if the Yots had an owner.

What the **** are you talking about, the Yotes owner was sitting in the 100 level last night just laughing and smirking and having a grand old time. God I wish the crowd would have known and started a chant.

Because its a separate serious topic?

really, its a little odd that I had started a Shaw gone for three games thread just for it to get whiped and told that we are discussing it on the game thread. Thats fine though, just want to point that out.

You do realize there's like an 18 page thread on the Shaw incident, right?

Seems like people cared to talk about that.

If this thread makes your ass bleed that badly... go ahead and ignore it.

I am so disgusted today that I am at a loss of words. It started with the suspension, then the Toress hit, then the Torres slewfoot on Bolland, then Toews in the box, oh and Bollig at the beginning of the game in the box and on, and on and on.

The NHL has some very, very serious issues to address. Fucking Bettman allowing the bush league antics to continue and in post season play no less when the best of the best should be playing professional hockey.

I hope Q, Stan and Rocky all go ballistic publicly regardless of the fines that would be leveled. It needs to be done and not swept under the ice.
