Absolutely shocked over this call. The whole thing stinks and Q has gone way down in my estimations as he put his own agenda (by keeping Kitchen) first over whats best for the team. Havi seems like a great guy and looked to have a good relationship with the players so this will have to hurt. If Stan did pass the buck by letting Q make the call then this just shows that he hasn't got the balls and is unfit to GM this team.

Didn't you just tell everyone to stop bitching about Stan yesterday? Which is it? Because this clearly has his hands on it as well.

You think Stan came up with all this by himself?, just like Tallon did when he fired Savvy right?, no no it wasn't from McD right noooo. I don't mind Stan because he is not the evil one in this organization. He is not on a power trip as what Im believing, We all know its McD. RK I think you know better then to think this was Stans move.

Sounds a little like the Bettman era.

LOL, the funny thing is it does not feel like it since there are not side shows....then again there have been some "specials" made to get certain aged players into certain large markets. At least the smaller markets that were "passed" got additional draft picks.

Are you kidding? McD probably doesn't even know how good the coaches are beyond what people tell him, he's no evaluator of hockey talent, shit for that matter he probably doesn't even know what the responsibilities of Havi and Kitchen were well enough to force one of them to be fired. You think if he did he would have let Havi go? No he would have pushed for Kitchen as a big **** you to Q and to let him know who still runs the show. As it is, Q got the better opportunity to throw it the other way. The coach-GM rift seems to be growing these days.

If you don't think Stan had a hand in this I don't know what to tell you. Hate to tell you but this is not McDonough.

There is obviously more going on behind the scenes than anyone knows. I wouldn't get all over Q's case without knowing the truth

You mean like Keane on fucking LA... what the ****... Henry to NY. and the obvious other LA players. At least some of the superstars are starting to float around to other teams some. I like the fire's makeup this year, but don't think they are strong enough overall to actually win anything. CAN'T WAIT FOR ROLFE TO START PLAYING. He was/is one of my alltime favorites.

Nor would I. I think there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes right now. Two years removed from the Stanley Cup it just doesn't look good.

Anyone else think it was a case of "him or you" that was presented to Q?

Honestly, who the **** cares, because those fucks don't care themselves. like I said prior to this firing I had some hope and believed in this one goal crap, but after last nights firing. Its all bullshit. I can honestly say I am jealous of the Nucks organization at the very least they support each other. Not like this egotistical NWO corporate bullshit that these fucks are running.

No, RK I think he had some say in it, but I just believe that McD had most of it....but who really knows, we are all playing the guessing game and Im sure thats what they want. But here is why I question it was McD. with this artical he is Tallons guy, so off he goes.

Haviland has spent the last four seasons as an assistant, joining the staff in July 2008, a little more than two months before Quenneville became head coach.

I'm fully aware of where he came from Acco. I kind of know him.

The only GOAL they have had is to make more money from us chumps buying tickets. The MESS in the front office right now is evidence.

The ONLY reason Havi was in Chicago is Colorado tried to hire him as their COACH after his last year in Rockford.

Rolfe is already playing, but man is he out of sorts as he gets back into the rhythm. They do have a good team, and obviously a good coach as not much has changed playerwise from last season...that and dumping the South American style. That also reminds that if I ever have tickets that are not going to be used I should contact you to see if you want them.

Rolfe is active but he's not playing yet. I don't know why. I'm not sure who you might be thinking of but he hasn't hit the pitch yet, at least officially in an MLS game. Yeah, let me know if you ever have tickets or just want someone to go with if it's in advance enough. I have a buddy out in Brookfield who I go with. My friend last year had 2 season tickets but moved so I bought them off him for $100 and my buddy in Brookfield and I went to a bunch of games. It's definitely a good time. And of course we went to Man U

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
It could be worse...I think the fire are doing better than the Timbers. With the way PTFC has had defensive lapses and blowing leads in stoppage time you'd think the Blackhawks decided to take up soccer. Won't stop the army from coming out and cheering...not only are the tickets still sold out, but the arena is full.

If their intention was to piss off the players, they've succeeded. In a HUGE WAY!

Could have sworn that he went in for the Sounders game....perhaps it is my old age that made me think he went in.

Our seats are slightly to the right of the top of the locker room opening. Usually I know a week in advance if there is a seat or two available.

Well, it does give Portand something to cheer about other than trees
