This arguments are so dumb? Who cares what they did in the minors, the majors is what counts. You just have to see what he does.. But in my honest opinion, Castro will continue to play good and have a good career.

Pretty sure Dews and Brett are the only ones who think Castro won't remain awesome.

His discipline and power numbers are pretty similar which is what I have been pointing at.

And he never did really good in the MLB, Castro has.

Corey Patterson was supposed to be great, he was a bust.

Tyler Colvin was supposed to have mediocre power, nowhere near the power numbers he put up last year.

Pattersons AAA numbers before he was called up are eerily similar to his major league numbers.

Regardless he was called up way too early and left here to rot. The Cubs fucked him up like they fucked up Cedeno.

As far as Colvin goes let's wait more than 300 PA to decide if his power is for real.

More AB's per season should boost those HR numbers.

minors Lastings Milledge Minor League Statistics & History - Baseball-Reference.com

majors Lastings Milledge Statistics and History - Baseball-Reference.com

just another random guy. again are we still going to bluntly make statements that castro is going to continue to be awesome?

There are always going to be exceptions, but Milledge like Castro didn't even walk as well as he did in the minors. I simply pointed out it wasn't better than he did in the minors which shows for more of a correlation for succeeding in the majors than a guy like Colvin whose numbers look completely haywire from his minor numbers. I think you are all missing the point I was making.

Minot league numbers shouldn't be the determining factor but a player isn't going to go from Yuniesky Betancourt to Adam Dunn either.

Or bring them way down.

Colvin is a complete wild card right now. He put on the extra muscle but we really need to see more of him. Colvin was completely different in 2010 from the rest of his career.

Castro at least looked the same in the majors as be did in the minors.

IK, just saying that I think 20 homers is something he is more than capable of repeating.

Without roids anyway.

Not only that but the discipline numbers too. A player isn't going to walk 3% of the time in the minors and then 12% in the majors.

If a player walks in the minors he is more likely to walk in the majors.

Ya, IK.

I thought you meant power for some reason.

I'll ask this again simply:

DewsSox,

If we can't use one season of Castro's stats at the major league level to project him. And we can't use MiLB stats. How should we project the player?

Thank you,

you can have an opinion, and project how you would like. I am talking about the members who are bluntly stating that he will be great based on 1 year in the mlb and his career numbers in the minors and not even considering that he could flop.

Of course he can, but I doubt it.
