Right, because he will repeat that performance. Im glad you can predict stats after 1 year of a player in the MLB. Like I said, Can i get the winning big game numbers?

He is a Psychic.

He is 20. I will bet you $50 that he will repeat that shit. To think he won't is a little ridiculous, IMO.

Levine > Nothing at all.

fangraphs assesment was perfect on the comparisons of the trade.

right, because 1 year makes the career. gotcha. "dont stop believing"

Honestly, I think Castro will be better next season, or at least close to what he was this season.

I am not sure why you would think Castro would take a step back unless you completely believe in a sophomore slump or something.

His BABIP might have been a little bit high but not really. His K rate was higher than his minor league numbers, and his walk rates lower than his minor numbers so you would think those numbers would regress back at least a little bit to his minor numbers. I don't see any reason to think he would regress very much, if anything he should be expected to improve.

There was mix reactions on this trade.. Some people love the trade in the Cubs standpoint, some love it for the Rays. Same goes with the other trade.. some people love the trade for the Brewers and some loved it for KC. Everybody has opinions and there's no right or wrong answer.

Funny you should bring these up, since they are non-expert opinions. Jntg specifically said "experts."

What leads you to believe Castro will not improve? You haven't posted anything that says that.

You are not looking at a player who is established himself for 5 seasons in the MLB, you are looking at his rookie year and basing all his numbers from one year (sample size) and stating that he is going to be great, which you or I do NOT know unless we are psychic, so to take 1 year of numbers is fucking foolish.

I am not stating that he will step back or blow for sure, I am calling out those who are stating bluntly that he will be great by using 1 year of MLB numbers to back up an arguement. Minor League numbers should not be used on trying to project out a player in the MLB IMO.

Why shouldn't they be used?

You are gauging a players potential on what he did in a league that is less than the majors, why use his minor league numbers and just guess on what he will do in the majors. two different leagues.

As i explained before "firstimer" it isnt about the prospects and what they will pan out to be when comparing the trade, if they make or break it means nothing, it is the fact that you could have held onto those prospects as chips for a better deal. but you obviously cannot read. and yeah im trolling firstimer.....ok.

Exactly, people keep telling me I'm wrong for disliking the idea when we could have gotten a better deal for them.

Then they go on about pitchers like Garza being rare, which is total BS.

Not that we should never trade prospects, just that we shouldn't tell the Rays "Here, take whoever you want for your #3 pitcher."

well no but it's a good place to start. I mean someone isn't goin to be Theriot in the minors and Pujols in the majors. You can see Castros discipline in the minors and take a gauge on it. Had Castro walked a tom in the majors you could look and see if it's a fluke or it he always walks. You can look at the isop as well.

You can see the type of player a player is going to be by looking at the minors.

Please back that up.

Corey Patterson was supposed to be great, he was a bust.

Tyler Colvin was supposed to have mediocre power, nowhere near the power numbers he put up last year.
