[1] Agreed. The KHL has seemingly been a waste of his time.

[2] That's because the wagon is fucking AWESOME! I know the prospect of him becoming a Hawk some day has always given me the warm fuzzies inside. :D
Really have to disagree there jonesy, especially since all we have to go on are his TOI and G stats from over there. We have no idea what type of coaching or on the job training he received, but from all accounts it appears his game has not stagnated and possibly even gotten better. Could he have had the same results being "the man" in the A? We'll never know but while I do believe the A is a fine developmental league, maybe it is not the de facto best place for everyone.

EDIT: Saw your follow up to another post and agree with the NA transition.

He was wearing 32. Are you saying you disagree? Hard to understand exactly what you're saying with that post. I thought, FOR A GUY HIS SIZE, he was a pretty smooth skater. I mean, he's Chara's size, and I didn't think he was giving up any skating ability to Chara when I saw him today. Granted, it's an extremely small sample size, but he seems to be a decent skater. I should also mention that I thought he took himself out of position way too often trying to step up and make a big hit, and he needs to figure out when to pinch, and when not to pinch. I was just commenting on his skating ability, nothing more.
Yah sorry, I didn't really explain myself. The ah hem was more for the people how started knocking they guy .01 milliseconds after we signed him.

E Runs, I am not in anyway saying that all his time in the KHL has has been a waste and quite agree with everyone else that playing in it so young has assuredly done wonders for developing his game (much like what is happening with Kruger playing in the SEL). And I agree with you that the AHL is quite obviously not the only developmental route to the NHL and might not be right for every players development. But when it comes to foreign prospects who have never played in NA I think at some point they have to come over and get used to playing here in some NA league. All I am saying is that I would have preferred if he had been in NA (at the very least the last year) and simply getting the technicalities of learning the NA game under his belt so that notch would be history for him. And in that "sense" after what we saw or heard of him when he was last here and based on the ice time he was subsequently given in Russia then yeah, I would just as soon have preferred he was over here getting that out of the way. It's not that I think the AHL play would have added to his talents per se but it but it would have been time spent acclimating to a different type of game and just added to his hockey IQ overall. As with others who have liked him from the get-go I am just super anxious to see him ready for NHL play and playing with the Hawks.

You are a day late. I don't know if any of the rest of camp will be streamed other than yesterday. I could always be wrong.

I also thought Roger Waters was at the UC the entire week almost so that means a lot of camp this week will be a Johnnys. Not sure but I would think it would be open to the public.

once the Concert set up is complete, tomorrow being the first show, the Ice if covered for the remainder of the concert dates.

LOL

John Scott finds all of the Cup "annoying". "It's great they won the Cup last year but I don't really care about that, it's time to get back to work and win another one".

Scott is right, the Cup was last season. As fans we can talk about forever but the players need to live in the present.

Jonesy - Yup, I edited my post to reflect the NA style agreement.

Gotcha. Didn't catch that. In any event it's all good folks---so far Makarov looks as great as ever and that's nothing but GREAT news for Hawks nation! :D
Even though I watched the scrimmages yesterday I can't definitively recall or list the rosters for the RED team, WHITE team, and BLACK team. Of even more interest to me is if someone can recall what the lines and D pairings were specifically for the different teams? I can recall some basics, i.e., Morin was out there with Pirri or Hossa playing with Stalberg but not the majority of what each team seemed to be rolling. Anyone?

I will say is was useful for me that some of the players I was looking to keep an especial eye out for the Hawks conveniently numbered 25 (Stalberg), 26 (Makarov), and 27 (Morin), LOL!
Eh, I don't think the team they were playing on or who they were playing with is all that important. I pretty much just paid attention to what position they played certain players at and how they did. The lines were mixed up all over the place, though they did keep a few specific guys together it seemed. What I thought was interesting is Sharp playing center the entire time yesterday. Seems they have absolutely no intentions of moving him back to wing, which is good. We have a ton of talent on the wing, and he is a GREAT second line center. Toews/Sharp/Bolland up the middle is a great 1, 2, 3 punch.

Eh, it's not a biggie. I was just curious because I know the format for the first 3 days is that on each day one team will get to play in two scrimmages, i.e., Red yesterday and culminating in a game Tue. (before the Hawks make their first round of cuts) between the two best performing teams. I just wanted something other than my memory to recall who's playing under what team color.

Really curious who played goal for those seven goals.

Edit: Apparently it was Turco in net... I'd be curious to see what people that were there thought about the goals he let in.

I'd say it's just pre-season and the defense in front of him probably sucks ass. A few dribblers/softies in the pre-season wouldn't bother me too much.

Let's see what people have to say...
