interesting take from hollandsworth, he believes that zambrano will be going to the marlins if guillen takes over that team next year. i think both sides of town will be happy with that.

The Marlins are about due for another World Series title anyway.

you wont be getting anything back, if you do, its a bad overpaid player. no prospects, no money picked up by other club. his value right now is zero.

meh, not necessarily. I mean, we'll take on an equally bad contract (with money exchanging also)...but, similar to Milton Bradley/Carlos Silva...there's players that are owed more money over longer years that teams are trying to get rid of.

It's not likely, by any means, tho...i see your point.

Recent history suggests that the Cubs won't just release him and that they will need to swap garbage to make him disappear. Some of these ideas are interesting, but yes it is mostly just dumping bad contract for another bad contract. I kind of like the idea of Figgins to be honest. Hendry has done decent in these types of deals though so maybe we will be surprised. I doubt it, but there is always hope.

lol@getting rios or dunn or zito

the cubs are trying free up money, not have more committed

i like chone figgins(good outfield defender),brian roberts(decent option at 2nd base but seriously declining..although he would be a good feed back for Z)...dice-k or burnett(though not sure how the deal would EXACTLY play out when you're making a deal with the yanks)

There are possible moves, and if a guy that is a big of a clubhouse cancer as Milton Bradley can be moved than anyone can be moved. As I said these type of dump trades have actually worked out decently for Hendry.

you can pay his salary and take adam dunns and i still wouldnt do it.

I trust a career .250 BA .381 OBP and a .902 OPS over carlos zambranos consistent career of being good than bad than acting like and idiot.......repeat 10 times.

The question isn't whether any of us would do it, but rather if Kenny Williams or Jim Hendry would do it. However, I think it would be more likely Williams would want to swap Rios, which I would want no part of.

I wouldn't take Carlos Zambrano on my team if you paid his salary and gave me $10 million per year. He's a jagaloon. ****** should retire and give Ozzie and Sosa reacharounds for money once he's gone.

If ozzie is the manager next year, I do it. I hate ozzie and hope he goes away, but if he stays I would do it. Any other manager....no way.

Can he pitch? yes. when he isnt fighting himself, and well others.

Look at the managers during the issues he has had.

Old man pinella who was just a fucking moron at the tail end of his baseball time, and fucking mike quade. Both idiot managers that cannot control a damn thing. He needs a manager that is going to control him.

As much as I don't think Jim Hendry is a good GM, I actually think this is the one time I "like" having him as my GM. He has consistently gotten something for nothing in thes trades where he is dumping toxic garbage. He got Mark Grudzielanek/Eric Karros for Todd Hundley, Mike Fontenot for Sosa, and Silva for Bradley.

That may be the case, but he's not worth it IMO. He's a ticking time bomb and selfish. If him coming to the Sox means Ozzie's here next year. No fucking way.

Fontenot and Silva both provided more value to this team than the player given up did to their team. They weren't homeruns, but the Cubs won each of those trades.

Figgins is an infielder, not an outfielder....
