I dont see him coming back. Im usually a Zambrano supporter but this is the last straw for me. He has NO VALUE now and needs to be released if he tries to come back

I really dont see him coming back. Cubs cant allow him to. If he doesnt retire then he should be sent home. Then as of next year Cubs can try to pull a Bradly trade. Sorry to say it but Z needs to be gone.

Ramirez said Zambrano would be accepted back.

"I know he's not a bad guy, he just doesn't know how to control his emotions sometimes," he said. "Sometimes he just loses it, and I think he did tonight."

He thinks he lost his emotions? I KNOW

But if they didn't have to pay Zambrano 19 million next year which is clearly what they are planning on doing at this point, why couldn't they pay Wilson that much, which if I had to ballpark would be the area he probably gets next year?

CJ 19 mil per year?

The reason baseball players arent twitting about this is they aren't on it like NBA NFL guys. A different class of players, right or wrong.

As an owner you see what you see, and he has seen a lot with zambrano, to not have JH try his hardest to move him even if you have to eat most of the money you do it.

Also there is more to the game of baseball than just batting. you obviously dont watch baseball. moron.

oh 2008 again? what was the "best thing" about 2008? the first round sweep? idiot. keep living in the past dope.

he doesnt deserve a rolleyes. he is a moron.

All I know is if he retires the cubs can totally afford pujols and fielder

Look guys, dewey's back.

Adam Dunn says worry about your own team.

Yes, this is Tom Rickett's fault. Right.

i agree with CO here:shifty:...although i do think that Hendry will/should be gone very soon(i guess thats a little off the topic of the response..but just a somewhat related note)

Yes, let's get rid of the best 3B in the NL. Smart move.

Nl 3rd base position is weak and i dont think he's the best 3rd baseman because of his defense(i'd arguably take zimmerman healthy and panda over him)...although unless we get good value off of ramirez..i think he should still be on the team

As for the Z affair, if he does actually retire, that would be the best thing to happen to this team since we won the division in 08.

I can see it both ways, we lose a really consistent top of the rotation pitcher, but at the same time we also lose a guy who's a ticking time bomb and is on the downward slope of his career and has a fat contrat

i dont like just having demp and garza upfront in the rotation tho....those are two good leading pitchers in the rotation..but after that its a lot more dicy...

the cubs need to look for a pitcher or two or we're going to have issues next season

As fro the last part...Z's not been a consistent top of the rotation starter for a few years....his ERA this season is around 5.

this season is an anomaly(or a sign of things to come, your choice)....z's ERA is usually in the 3s...

and when i mean top of the rotation..i mean like top 3...he isnt our "front guy" anymore..but after him, our pitching becomes even more of a question mark imo

His ERA is typically in the 3s, but only once since 2007 has it been below 3.75. Again, that's not top-of-the-rotation consistency. That's avg. at best. In fact, his avg. era over the last 5 seasons is 3.96...middle of the road this year is 3.90.

I understand he is the 3rd best option in the rotation but im starting to think he just a cancer to the clubhouse. I think its time to cut ties. I am one of the biggest zambrano fans there is to but this is my last straw.

i see your point..his ERA started to climb a little as he got older..but considering what we have right now in terms of the back of the rotation..i think he was a decent option in our top 3...

thing is,i think/hope we address pitching in the offseason..just overall

demp and garza upfront and then guys like lopez, marshall, etc.

will NOT get it done..

I hope no one actually thinks that's a good starting rotation.

If you get Bruce Chen, start him twice against the Sox and you're guranteed 2 wins right there. Lol
