@BleacherNation

Dramatically increased player facilities, restrooms, concessions, communications, and an outdoor patio servicing upper deck.

The logistics of scheduling 80 plus games in a shared facility is very difficult. Putting 40 games on the south side and 40 out here makes better sense than Milwaukee.

It does, but that assumes that Reinsdorf will allow the Cubs to play at the Cell (I don't think that's the case) and also that the Cubs would want to force fans to trek even more out of the way of public transit and a major tourist spot. I honestly don't think it's viable.

Reinsdorf has said he won't allow the Cubs to play at USCF because the Cubs wouldn't let the Sox play at Wrigley when the new park was being built.

I think the feeling is mutual...

The Sox played in old Comiskey while the new park was under construction across the street.

I hear many objections, but little offer of any alternate solutions. There is no means to keep from forcing fans more out of the way of public transit(Metra goes to Geneva BTW).

And piece-mealing a renovation of this magnitude over multiple off-season years will piss off every general contractor in cook county.

Right. But they could have moved in sooner and they could have built the new park on the old location.

Why would a park in the burbs hurt the Cubs?

If they developed the area first I guess it wouldn't, but you'd have a hell of a time convincing the fanbase, the city, the businesses, the neighbors etc. to allow the Cubs to move. Also, it's pretty apparent given what transpired in the session that the Cubs aren't moving out of Wrigleyville.
