This should be no surprise, the $$ is going to have to come from a developer...or more likely several. And that creates an issue for the Rickettes b/c those investors are going to want a nice return...quite possibly in the form of ownership.

That's the only way I see it getting done, Rickettes need to sell a piece of the pie.

If Rahm wants to, I'm sure he could get the money. It is Chicago, after all.

Nope, the taxpayers are already screwed over until 2032 or so on all those bonds from the Soldier Field renovation.

There are no public funds available, and Cub fans have Ted Phillips to thank for this.

Sort of an off-topic question, but being that I'm not from Chicago, it is something that interests me. What is the status of the upgrades to Wrigley Field, such as "Cubs Alley" and the updated concourse? We've all seen what Boston has done to upgrade Fenway and also seen New York tear down one of the most hallowed houses in all of sports...what do you think the fate of Wrigley Field is?

I heard that they're goign to add another LED board in left field, but that has not been confirmed as of yet. A lot of their upgrades are being held up by the Mayor's refusal to talk to them at this point.

O RLY...

Time for Ricketts to move the team to Omaha if Chicago doesn't pony up
