Tried to read this as fast as I could and a few of you were arguing back and forth so quickly that I couldn't get my point in.
1. None of you have read this book so you have no idea whether or not it is a "how to" guide that provides step-by-step instructions on how to seduce boys, or to rape children or any other thing.
2. The government didn't get involved in this as they shouldn't have.
3. Amazon has a right to sell the book and as it has been pointed out by a few of you, they have other titles which are similar so why pull this book and keep the rest?
4. Someone brought up the point of women having babies at 14 (I think it was KOTL) which has somehow become unacceptable in modern times. We just take the word "pedophile" and automatically conjure mental images of creepy guys in vans cruising the local elementary school trying to lure 5 year old boys into their vehicle. Does it make any difference if the boy is 16 and is a willing participant in the "seduction"? Are the 14 year old sluts who look, dress and act like a 25 year old (and who **** like them) somehow being corrupted simply by having sex with a man over 18? This whole idea of AGE being the predominant factor of what is and isn't acceptable when it comes to sexuality is quite fucked up if you ask me. There are 16 year old girls who are more mature and have more life experience than some 30 year old women. We just look at the age and try to attach some sort of level of maturity and that doesn't always work.
5. Someone else pointed out that the book will not be the cause of someone getting raped. The rapist either had that predisposition or not. Someone who never thought of something like that didn't just wake up one day, read this book and go "Wow, now I know how to get away with it, so I'll go find some boys to make love to."
I think I agree with TJD on this one. You may not like the content, and you may find it disgusting, but that doesn't give you the right to censor it.
It boils down to this: Teach your children what is right/wrong, have an open communication relationship with them, and pray to God that nothing like this ever happens to them. Rapists, pedophiles, murderers........they have always been around. This is nothing new. The rules have not changed.
