More sheer ignorance, and all because you just don't "get" soccer. It's the height of arrogance to rubbish things others love passionately and get all the same things from that you get from football and hockey. It's all about personal taste. It's all subjective.
Watching you embarrassingly downplay the game is similar to listening to my UK friends rubbish American football.
"Just a bunch a fat pussies in space suits who can't run a hundred yards without needing an oxygen mask".
"Rugby for ******s who need body armor ".
"LOL @ a sport that's so exciting that people talk about the commercials more than the game".
"Garbage entertainment for drooling morons with the attention span of a gnat, who can't focus on something for 5 minutes without being reminded that they exist to buy bud light and salute their flag".
I've heard all the ignorant, uninformed stupidity on that side of the pond about American football. Thank goodness I have the likes of FBHNP, bearsbud and desperado to remind me that ignorance about "other people's sports/culture" is not limited to Britain.
Once I saw this thread, I knew I'd see our resident 'all thing Euro are awesome' would of course say soccer is the greatest sport in the world and we plebian Americans just Rent sophisticated enough to get it.
Ever dawn on you that perhaps many of us HAVE consumed countless soccer games and simply don't enjoy it? With three young sons and one who is addicted to soccer, I've been to and watched more games than I can imagine. Even after consuming that much, I simply don't like the game and find it mind numbingly boring. Please tell me how that is born of ignorance?
By the same token, you said you don't like baseball. Therefore you are ignorant and don't get the game. See what I did there?
Ironically enough, there are millions of American sports fans who don't like baseball OR soccer.
We get it. You are the 'all things Euro are awesome and better' guy. You are guilty of the shit shit you spend every thread ripping on 'Mericans about
