It certainly couldn't hurt at this point.

I think that's because, until the last few games, that line was still immune to the rest of the team's slump. Now it's caught the bug as well.

So, just for fun, what about:

20-19-88
10-86-81
29-91-65
28-16-42

Until Versteeg comes back, of course.
Q won't put TT on the 2nd line. The guy is barely averaging 9 minutes a night the last 6 games, in which he had 12.5 last night (which surprises me).

I still fail to see what this is.

Fully agree that he should be a wing, not a center. That Saad-Shaw-Kane combo was awesome during the Kings series last year, but since that combo was assembled, Kane tore up the league with Richards and Versteeg while Saad has teamed up with Hossa and Toews to form one of the most dominant lines in the whole damn league. Not gonna sacrifice those two lines just to bring up Shaw's numbers. He has to find a way to thrive away from the top 6, because he's not a top 6 guy.

He's on the No. 1 power play unit. If that's not a role to get points, what is?

Still 3rd line center next to limited offensive guys is most of his ice time. He has something towards 5 PP points.

Plus screening and battling around the net doesn't always generate a Point for you or total as a plus. It's always been a bit off-putting to me that there isn't a good way to really take note of how many goals were assisted by a guy playing that role well. I'm sure some of Sharps or maybe Seabs early season PP goals as well as others had Shaw making an impact in the goal. Judging based on sole point totals isn't a well accurate enough evaluation to what a person does.

He's always taken dumb penalties, I don't see how they've been at worse times now than they were the last two years. I don't see the difference other than the perception of it. He also draws dumb penalties from time to time as well, that's part of why some coaches still like agitator types.

The biggest problem is that he's still playing center. He just isn't a center and that is blatantly obvious in the defensive zone. Q's obsession with Shaw at center is almost as baffling as his refusal to play Sharp at center... Most of the roster problems up front are solved by Sharp moving to center... Worked for three years and a cup win....

I think Shaw brings more value then what is shown on the scoresheet. Here's a guy who isn't afraid to play physical, will be the first guy throwing his weight around on the forecheck, battles in the corners and along the boards, sticks up for his teammates, will go through a wall for the team, and has some skill to boot. I think 40 points will be the highest he ever gets, but if he can average 30-40 points doing what I said above on the 3rd line, he's well worth it.

On the wing of course. Because he's horrible at being a center.

Only Sharp is a good center.

It's because I bought his jersey for my girlfriend. I'm a jersey curse.

Don't ever buy another Hawks jersey. Do consider buying a Packers or White Sox jersey.

Agreed 100%, but he should be playing wing. I think he has the best hand/eye on the team. Nobody seems to be able to tip pucks like he does. It doesn't help that he has played with Bickell, who has sucked ass 95% of the season.

I still think they should bring back Bell and pair him with Arnason and Calder.

Kyle Calder was my goddam hero in the early 2000s.

That was a depressing time to be a Hawks fan.

That's why LA has him in Manchester.

That is true. He was in a slump and was sent down. That was a big deal out here BTW. I'm just saying that Richards is not done with and he is going to pay for someone before this season is over. He still has a lot of skill and is a very good play-off guy.

Well name a team that would take his contract. LA made a huge mistake in not buying him out when they had the chance to.

Did anyone else realize that LA is actually out of the playoffs right now? I was surprised to see that
