Q likes him in front of the net. That's why he's always at center.

Certainly don't have to play center to play in front of the net as one of the best net presence player of all time Dino dickhead Ciceadickhead was a wing. But the conservative coach does prefer the center position there.

What's funny is Shaw isn't the only guy that has to go back to playing infront of the net off the wing. Saad the last few games has gone back to doing his ole perimeter shit again and shying away from dirty areas. But in his defence that line as a whole had been less than productive as of late. It's actually the main reason for the current bed shitting.

And exactly what value do the Blackhawks get from him in front of the net?

Shaw does a pretty good job of screening the goalie - especially considering his size. Plenty of goals have gone in (without Shaw getting a point on the scoresheet) that wouldn't have if the goalie wasn't screened by Shaw.

Shaw is a 3rd liner who can bring energy, do his job, and chip in while doing it. I agree that he shouldn't be placed at center, but that really isn't his fault at the current time. There isn't a prospect in the AHL that I would call up, to save around $1mil or so in cap, to replace Shaw at the current time on the 3rd line.

Nope. Only centers are allowed in front of the net. Scooby Doo Johannson, greatest center of all-time, taught me that. See, you're not the only one who can make up names.

He's not afraid to drive it or stand in front of it? Although he doesn't always seem to be able to stay in front of it.

Jim, what do you not like about Shaw? I saw your comments on that brutal second city article and it's evident you don't like Shaw? Why is that?

He's really bad at faceoffs. As a wing Shaw is fine, but he's not a C.

I really don't have an issue with Shaw.

My issue is with Quenneville's overvaluing of him.

He's a 4th line winger, nothing more.

So what?

It's not helping the Blackhawks one bit.

I do remember watching Dino dickhead Ciceadickhead and he was one of the most hated players from a Hawks opponent ever. I don't remember Scooby Doo Johannson.

I think he's a 3rd line winger. He's more than capable to hold his own in the offensive zone while he's not to bad on wing in his own zone. Again, for 2 million dollars you are getting a guy who plays physical, great along the boards and in the corners, willing to take the puck to the front of the net, and has skill. He's exactly what Bickell is supposed to be but 2 million less. Plus he's a team player and brings great character to the team.

Nothing wrong with the line Shaw plays on

Its funny how guys like Shaw become the scapegoat players when the higher paid top line players arent producing or in a slump. Hossa and Toews have to elevate their games again esp on the offensive end. kaner has been carrying this teams ass upfront for the majority of the season. Would have been a tragic season had Kane been hurt for any extended period. Hawks would probably be sitting closer to .500. Every other forward is just having spirts and slumps...kind of what Grimson has when he hangs out in front of elementary school playgrounds.

This has basically been Hossa's season:

Playing extremely well, just not getting the goals to show for it.

Why not put Teuvo at Center and move Shaw to the wing? I don't think #86 could do any worse at the faceoff dot than Shaw.

They have been grooming TT for wing though haven't they since he hit the farm?

I am asking not telling here because I am a semi self admitted don't give that big of a shit about the AHL hockey fan. I don't follow it enough to know facts. But someone told me once that is what they were doing with TT. So if they throw him back at center (which I know was his natural position when he played his hockey in Europe) wouldn't the Hawks be going against their grooming process? But on the other hand that shit happens all the time so no big whoooooop.
