Hopefully the Bears were paying attention yesterday in how to properly use a TE that can catch. Kittle went for 6 catches yesterday and 151 yards. He completely dominated the middle of the field and destroyed the Bears by getting downfield.

A huge part of Brady's success was because of Gronk.
A huge part of Mahomes success is because of Kelce.

Why do the Bears make everything so difficult?
Kittle is 100x the player kmet will ever be in every aspect.

why waste effort on this bad football team?

It's very evident that is exactly what both Kmet & Moore are thinking every game day for weeks now. Neither has a new contract to play for, so it makes it that much easier to check out. Especially with a struggling rookie leading the show and unable to keep them engaged.

Did you see DJ Moore interviewed in the locker room after the game yesterday? He was giggling openly. It’s pretty bizarre to watch, but it makes sense and I don’t blame him. Still, quite the departure from his early season antics. Clearly his therapist or agent or somebody told him caring too much on this particular Bears team wasn’t useful or productive.

Bears ownership & management see prolific offenses dominating the league for decades and think, "Are we out of touch? No, it's the successful franchises who are wrong!"
You can win without a prolific offense and you lose with a prolific offense. Look at Joe Burrow in Cincinnati and Minnesota with Sam Darnold.

Bears are just broken. Top to bottom.

Can't blame him either. Seven seasons and he has been through six different OCs and twice as many QBs. He is in the prime of his career and is trapped in this endless cycle of hitting the reset button. It's got to be one of those laughing to keep from crying moments.

If you can get a first round pick for him you do it this offseason. Not sure what the cap implications of that would be, but you take them. Not even because you are fed with him or anything, but its just not productive to have him around if you’re gonna press the rebuild button again.

There is a difference between Fred Warner and Edmunds manning the middle of the field. Kittles was wide open. Warner was dominating.

Too many drops imo...but CW is also big play hunting...he was open a good amount of times underneath or in flat
He was definitely big play hunting yesterday....that's why there were so many sacks. People can blame whichever OLman you want, but CW better start to dump it off more or he's never going to have consistently great games.

I don’t know, he looks physically very impressive but he’s pretty short on impressive football plays. Has he had some terrible quarterbacks? Obviously, but so have a lot of really good tight ends and their greatness just shines through. Brock Bowers is a monster with the Raiders shit situation, which to be fair is a little better than Caleb Williams but no so much so that it excuses how much worse Kmet & Odunze have looked.
Odunze? Why on earth are you lumping him with Kmet, a vet, who should be much better than he's playing. And Odunze had two TD's yesterday. What did Kmet get? Oh yeah, a drop on his one target. And only one target because he just can't get open.

Not sure what you've got going against Rome, but it's just weak.

My problem with Rome Odunze is the same problem I have with Caleb Williams. They took the wrong guy.

The moment we hired Waldron, I knew this was a possibility. The offense he runs is similar to McVay's system, which doesn't rely much on getting the ball to the TE. That's why the Rams have invested so much in the WR position since McVay has been there (Kupp, Woods, OBJ, Nacua, etc.).

When Waldron was in Seattle, their TEs didn't do much, and they also invested a lot in the WRs (Metcalf, Lockett, JSN).

Zac Taylor in Cincy if off the McVay tree.... and surprise, they invested heavily in the WRs (Chase, Higgins, drafted Burton in the 3rd round)

Matt LeFleur in Green Bay.. They've also invested a lot in the WR position. They keep stacking them up.. Watson, Doubs, Reed, Wicks. Yes, Kraft is having a bit of a breakout season, but he's not the focal point in the offense.

Kevin O'Connell may be one example that breaks away from this a bit with TJ Hockenson.

That type of offense just seems to favor getting the ball to a WR.

Kittle also runs like a WR (and was a former WR). Kmet, not so much. He's slower and not nearly as sudden. I agree with others that he is more of a #2-3 TE.
