clippers and nets can offer better deals than us.

problem is, what if he doesn't want to resign with any of those 2 teams. Nets were a crappy team last year, and the clippers are the clippers. im willing to say that if the clippers or nets have a deal in place they will like to know if Anthony will be willing to sing a extension or not before making a trade for him. if he says no will the nets or clips do the trade. supposedly sources are saying that Carmelo would sign a extension if he was traded here.

I honestly wouldn't expect anything from either......it would kill the core's of their teams just to acquire him. I'm sticking with it just as Bulls/Knicks for the auction for Melo.

Why would Carmelo go to the Nets or Clippers? He doesn't hate Denver, and Denver is way better than either of those places. Nets are a joke, I don't care how rich their owner is. I don't believe the Nets are as big of a draw as the biased East Coast media makes them out to be.

IMO it's going to be the Knicks or POSSIBLY the Bulls, but all my money is on the Knicks.

Even if he does to the Bulls, Miami is still a better team than us but we would play competitively in the ECF. One of the criticisms of the Heat right now is that there is only 1 basketball to go around. The Bulls will have the same problem. And Miami's talent is a slight level above ours if we get MELO.

I think we can offer a better deal and are more title-ready than the Knicks, but I think the Knicks are where he really WANTS to be...

How many different ways can we all agree?

Now it sounds like he's wanting to win. I was wondering why the Bulls weren't on his list of teams if he was so concerned about winning. Hopefully Denver gives to his demands on a trade because we will have a shot at him. If he doesn't come to the Bulls, I'm just hoping he stays in the West. The East is crazy enough now.

Acquiring Melo would put the Bulls up there with Boston and Miami.

Boston? LOL... if Bulls get Melo, Boston is no longer even an afterthought.

Well the the best players of the nuggets other than anthony are an injury prone center, a 34 year old pg and 33 year old pf. If he stays there, they're going to have to find a way to re-tool quickly. i guess carmello is just sick of colorodo.

I'd welcome carmello with open arms, but i'm far too cynical to accept any rumours about melo. lebron's 'decision' has left a sour taste in my mouth.

the celtics were the eastern conference champions last year. They got bigger and stronger in the off season while getting older. I duno if they have anything left, but if they do, they're OTHER team to beat in the east.

The Nets could make a better offer, but Im glad Melo is at least expressing interest in coming to the Bulls as well now. If Melo doesnt agree on an extension as well with NJ or say the Clippers or someone else, the Nuggets might just have to trade him to the Bulls or Knicks and obviously the Bulls would be able to give Denver a better offer than the Knicks. If this happens....I think I will be the most excited person ever.

I still believe that Melo would control his fate and would land with the Bulls if this is the case. Knicks have nothing to offer at all and the whole Chris Paul wanting to go New York Rumor was stupid because knicks have no roster unless they trade away Amare. Melo wants to go to a contender, Bulls are on the rise to contend with one more piece missing, New Jersey would suck even more if they gave up Harris and Favors, no one wants to play for a dysfunctional organization like the CLippers. They may have the so called best offer...but its not the best offer for Melo so he wouldnt agree to go to those teams. Bulls give him and the city its best chance to win a title since Jordan left.

Im not saying NJ wouldnt lol,and also I just said that. It obviously isnt the best offer for Melo and wouldnt agree to it if it was NJ or the Clippers,so it comes down to the two places he wants to go. IMO of course the Bulls are better off for the long run and short term, also the Nuggets would get a better deal from the Bulls than the Knicks. But its still a wait and see thing,if it does happen though, like I said I will be the most excited person.......EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didnt see your post while i was writing mine lol. But yeah im with you on the excited part. I say this puts us ahead of Miami if this happens. The Bulls would have a super team with Brewer being the weak link i guess. I think people might underestimate what he can do defensively.

Melo will go to the team that offers Denver the most. The way I see it is that there are 28 other bidders for Melo... He has no 'no-trade clause' so it could feasibly be anywhere.

I think CHI's chances are higher than most... but NJ, NY, and even PHILLY all have a better chance.

And let's not rule out the most likely scenario: Denver either re-signs him, or idiotically keeps him this season only to see him walk away in free-agency.

I say Denver will at least keep him for a couple months into the season. They are going to want to feel things out, as well as wait for other teams to get desperate.

It really comes down to is Deng a positive or negative for the Nuggets. Talentwise he is a positive but if they intend to rebuild then he is a negative. But they aren't going to kid themselves either, Deng and Gibson don't make them a playoff team.

no team is willing to trade assets for a rental. there aren't 28 other teams in the mix. Also in spite of not having a no trade clause, his ability to become a free agent/not sign an extension has the effect of being an informal no trade clause.

i agree about denver keeping him/free agency. '

unlike cleveland denver doesn't have a lot of bad contracts. nene is often injured, but he's still a good player. nene and billups are old, but they're big contract coming off the books soon. I'd say it's 47 chance he resigns, 53% he leaves.
