I'm not a fan of giving up Noah at all... I just don't think that's a good idea.

The Bulls are better off waiting to see if Melo elects to come here in 2012 rather than to deal away Noah.

No one is going to give up the assests necessairy to get Melo just for an expiring. There are cheaper expiring deals available. Whoever gets Melo is getting him to sign an extension as part of the deal.

Teams have done dumber things. By mid-season, teams are going to be lining up trying to throw valuable assets for Melo.

Yup and then we'll have Thomas as our center....I dont like the sound of that and Noah is an up and coming all star. I say if you drag it on,then so be it if thats the case of keeping Noah. I say Luol two first rounders, taj and/or johnson. Thats a good deal other than the contract of Dengs, everything else is reasonable and good for rebuilding with good young players.

Giving up Noah for Melo doesn't really help the Bulls all that much and it hurts them long-term. Do you really want to see Kurt Thomas, Omer Asik, and Taj Gibson play center instead of Noah?

Gasol to me was never a 1st tier player. Thats what Gasol would be to the Bulls...Gasol would have prevented us from being in the position to draft Derrick Rose and Deng and Gordon were never going to become All-Stars. Gasol is at best a 2nd option. Deng and Gordon are 3rd options. Gasol needed Kobe Bryant to excel his game. If the Bulls traded for Gasol, they would treat him as 1st option which he can never be. If..and I mean if the Bulls got a 1st option somehow then they would be okay with Gasol, but I never saw that happening given what the Bulls would want Gasol to be.

your response only further supports my point. noah is never going to be an all star. He's a great rebounder, but he's not an elite defensive center. he doesnt have the size to defend the howards and shaqs. He's a good help defender, and he's just plain awesome. He doesnt really have an amazing offensive game, and he's easier to find a joahkim noah than it is to find a melo. Granted noah is an amazing player, but he's easier to get than a melo, durant, lebron, or even gasol.

You dont know that. Theres many that said if he hadnt gotten injured last year that he could have been one. My belief is that he's a borderline one. He has a chance still.

He will never have an amazing offensive game. Neither did Ben Wallace or Bill Laimbeer, but they were still All-Star centers. Your last sentence is just wrong. Noah is not easier to get than Melo, Durant, LeBron, or even Gasol. There arent many big centers in the league that can do what Noah does, and teams that do have them or something close to them, WILL NOT give them up. Are Melo, Durant, LeBron top 10 talents in the league? Absolutely. But its a team game, not who has a top player in the league.

I explained to you what Gasol was, a 2nd option at best on a championship team. He took the Grizzlies to two playoffs series as a number one option and the Grizzlies failed to win one playoff game.

Look the bottom line is we can win 60+ games with Melo Boozer and Rose, and no center, but I guarantee every single one of you we will not win a championship with just those 3 guys.

And we may never win a championship with Joakim Noah, but to me he's a very big key component to winning one. We're one upgrade at either SF or SG to being a true title contender. If we got Melo without giving up Noah, to me we get to the Finals.

I say it is hard to get both a player like Melo and a player like Noah. Like I said it is hard to find a young up and coming maybe all star center in Noah who has that type of energy and the improvement he has shown since the playoffs against Boston. Like you said above neither did players like Wallace and ext have to be the best offensive players. Say this did happen,it would be a big blow at center for us to lose a guy like Noah. PG and Center is what we have over Miami. Noah can face up against Big Z easily. If we lost him it would be a blow. If we got Melo it would be superb but yet still losing someone like Noah. We wont know when we will be able to get another good young center like that. Having Thomas or Asik as our starting Center is a no no.

seriously if you put varejo, gortat, even brendon haywood on this team, we're closer to a championship if you have melo.

noah is going to get paid. i'd rather pay melo than noah.

you dont explain crap to me. gasol played with pieces of crap around him. if you look at the playoffs last season, gasol was better than a robbin. it was closer to 1a and 1b then it was a robin.

Ugh no thanks to Varejo(one of the most garbage players and pussies in the nba imo) gortat would be decent. But you have to remember, what if we dont get any of those guys you mentioned? Then what? At least if we kept Noah we would know we would have Noah for awhile and have him locked up. If this happens dont get me wrong I wont be super upset or anything, but if it means waiting to convince Denver to take on Deng,2 first round picks,Johnson and Gibson without having to give up Noah right away now,you do it.

also it's worth noting that noah should have a significant drop off next season on the offensive end. he's not going to get the touches with boozer around. he's going to get mostly garbage buckets and tip ins.

i agree. noah is going to be hard to replace, but i think you'll be better off trying to replace noah than you will anthony.

With noah we have a punchers chance to win the championship. with melo, we're a defensive center closer to a championship. you might be able to draft a defensive center, or pick up a dalembert/chandler in free agency.
