The Bulls' organization has money. If they really wanted to do that, they could easily do it tomorrow and keep Gibson and Asik. That is a non-issue. They are just going to wait until his Euro-league contract runs out anyway.

The Bulls already have two power forwards on their roster who are better than Mirotic right now. Bringing him over right now would be a waste of money. They are better off waiting until either Gibson or Boozer are gone before they let him start his rookie contract.

What would Mirotic bring to this team right now? He is not a very good defensive player according to scouting reports. He is not a strong rebounder. He doesn't have great athleticism. He is a stretch four that may not even have sufficient three-point range.
Just because he is great in Europe doesn't mean he will be great in the NBA.
The only way I could be "fucking Special person" is if Mirotic would help this team this season. He would not.

Asik has value because he can go out there for about 15-20 minutes per-game and back-up the 5 position for any NBA team. Not every team has a back-up C who can do the things that Asik can. Some teams don't have a defensive/rebounding-minded center at all.

Odd, I figured when Asik and Gibson left there would be other free agents who other teams are also letting walk available.
But apparently in your warped basketball "mind"(if one can even call it that) when Asik and Gibson walk the Bulls will only have minimum players to choose from like Pryz while the rest of the NBA can choose other players.

The quality free agents generally get scooped up by team's who aren't over the salary cap. The Bulls will be over the cap so they will generally miss out on the better free agents.
Once Asik and Gibson left, the Bulls would have nothing to choose from besides minimum players because they are over the cap.

At the NBA level, it is. You can be a terrible offensive player in the NBA and still have value. Asik is a great example of that. If one team gets injury problems at C, and have an overstock of players at smaller positions, you can guarantee that Gar Forman will get an offer for Omer Asik.
Letting players become free-agents walk away for nothing does zero good.
