Don't disregard that Sac has more to work with than OKC did. But it's a close comparison. Maybe closer than we think. Sac might move, like the Sonics moved.

SAC has alot of young talent but they cant work as a team right now..really dysfunctional

it is a shame..they could be a really good team

i think there really is more talent then there was 7-10 years ago

I think SAC drafted talented players without thinking about how the team would mesh. Cousins and Jimmer is just not a good mix, IMO.

Haha that would be awesome, but that'd be an extreme longshot

It depends if the Kings would be willing to take on salary. This trade would definitely make them a lot better. Hedo Turkoglu is a fan favorite in Sacramento, too, and is a better player than John Salmons or Travis Outlaw. And Boozer is better than the raw Cousins at this point.

or a more defensive minded coach

some players just can't defend [Boozer]

You need players that WANT to play defense and that CAN play defense.

Kings have a lot of guys that simply wouldn't be able to defend a lot of guys in the NBA.

should have probably said and/or

it helps alot to have a coach who is really cerebral on defense...like thibs

mike brown actually isnt a bad example

but consenting effort from players certainly helps as well

cousins can definitely defend...hickson can...reke can...thornton can as well

these guys are more self oriented and more offensive oriented though..and it amplifies in an nba setting....with paul westphal

Exactly. Thats because he gets 20 and 10 plus. This might be their best chance to get someone who can give them that in the post now. Most Cs in the NBA now aren't exactly evolved offensively.

except cousins, though he has the ability to dominate inside, takes dumb shots...he isnt nearly as efficient as howard.

you would have to hope that he gets a bit closer to his potential...and learn how to play with his team

What's your point? Orlando isn't going to get another Dwight Howard back. He's easily the best C in the league. Cousins still could be their best option for replacing a significant portion of his scoring and rebounding. And this is why other stuff would be involved.

well he's not even shooting 40% this year...though he is a dominating force..he takes some bad shots....

i just think at this point its not the best idea to rely on someone who is still underdeveloped especially mentally...

just too many red flags...especially to rely on as a centerpiece

he is a good player though

he isnt the defensive player howard is either...i guess thats why gibson is included in the deal..because you take a big hit on that end as well

It depends if the Kings would be willing to take on salary. .

That's an understatement. maybe one turd salary but the Kings basically got two shitty contracts on players who are declining. They'd have to be brain dead to do that.

But then who plays power forward and who is the backup center? It leaves a huge hole even though the Bulls get Howard.

Howard, veteran minimum player
Gibson, veteran minimum player
Deng, Brewer, Butler
Hamilton, Korver
Rose, Watson

If the Bulls can make a deal like that, it is a no-brainer.

NBA Trade Machine - ESPN

This wouldn't be nearly as bad for the Kings. They would be spending more, but at least they would inherit a solid PF to replace Cousins.

Once again, this would have to assume that Howard would commit lomg term.

If Magic could land Cousins, there would be someone with upside and he's also cheaper than anyone in LA. This would give Orlando flexibility.

meh boozer atleast plays more team oriented..he's quite a bit older and on the decline though

basically you're trading cousins for boozer straight up
