Hey I forgot to mention in response to Paul's question that the whistled song in The Bridge On the River Kwai is quite possibly the best whistling song EVER! That alone makes this a great military movie. You need songs when marching, I was a Sergeant in the Army and I know plenty about marching songs after all.

So we can't use nuclear bombs then?

I would go with the Javelin Anti-Armour Missile for one. Or a piece of self propelled artillery that was in the works but may have lost funding. I am looking for links and will post soon.

EDIT:

General Dynamics Crusader concept:

Crusader 155mm Self Propelled Howitzer

One Crusader vehicle can fire up to eight rounds to strike a single target at the same time. The digital fire control system calculates separate firing solutions for each of the eight projectiles.

Nope no nukes.

I am mixed between B-52H, A-10C, M1A2, or the M109

The B 52 when flown in formation for carpet bombing was awesome( usually they flew in cells of 3)

Humans.

None of the equipment, bombs, tanks, jets, subs, ect... are anything more than hunks of metal without a human with lethal intentions.

Okay, here's one for BHC:

Situation: You can be captain of one sub of either of the two following subs classes, with a top-notch complimentary crew, but only of the following WWII sub classes: Which would you pick:

US Balao Class or German Type XXI

...and...why?

The helicopter that just got shot down - is there any way to make those machines more resistant to the rocket propelled grenade attack from the ground? I've always wanted to fly a chopper but they seem very vulnerable to attack.

Many have anti RPG flares on them, but details are classified for OPSEC and they probably don't do any good when you are hovering off the deck.

Man is an rather ineffective, we lack enough strength to punch through metal, cannot fly so cannot obtain air superiority. Our incisors aren't even long enough to real damage if we bit someone. So please stop saying man you missed the point of the question and are just trying be smartasses.

I second that. It is also amazing what a small number of sniper's, commando's, intel, or even bureaucrats can do. It is not always about the largest destruction of physical property or count of dead that "wins".

I agree with THEM 100%. Without a human controlling all of those mechanical weapons you would get zilch out of them.

Relax man, I don't think they were intentionally screwing with you.

Sure. But weight, lift, fuel, and ultimately range come into play when adding anything to a helimachopper.

And while they seem hyper vulnerable, it is the crew that exposes the helicopter more than anything else.
